pulock/pelech/mayfield/leddy
rest can be exposed imo - Hell_Bent
Why would you protect Leddy? |

I wonder if the Isles lose Greene they may not want to lose Leddy as well. I'm not happy with Leddy but still. Bolduc if ready can replace Greene on the 3rd pair. Who replaces Leddy? |

Plenty of LD options in UFA. Oleksiak. Murray. Goligoski. Cole. Nemeth. McCabe. Martinez. Hjalmarsson. |

Hopefully Belmont will be different but I'll need to see the Isles sign a quality FA before I believe it. |

Also, no offense to your team or actual real fans such as yourself, but that arena is dead compared to other arenas around the league. No gonna lie, but I hate when good teams play in non traditional hockey markets! I was watching one of the games in this series in Tampa and it seemed like a mid January game. And what the hell is up with those stupid arse noise makers that they give out down there.
- Phillywhiteout
People from NY and Philly are well known for not be capable of shutting up. They go on and on and on, so it's to be expected that not everyone can be as obnoxious as them. There's also this thing called physics, where if you had some elementary knowledge of, you would know that sound in these game's is also a function of the structure of the arena. Also for tv viewers, the placement and quality of the microphones located around the arena.
But if you are still having trouble with your rose tinted glasses and thoughts of "WELL BACK IN MY DAY THINGS WERE THE BESTEST EVER!" then it wouldn't be difficult to pick any team and any game where you can find segments where the arena sounds like "a mid january game". |

Then allow me. Most athletes are able to fully recover from ACL repair. And yes, the Isles made the ECF without Lee. But I think they would have done even better with him playing on the Barzal line instead of Leo. He's great at getting those greasy goals in and around the crease.
If I'm Lou, I'm protecting 7 forwards and 3 d-men, unless he needs to protect Dobson. I would not protect Leddy, despite his skating ability. He has a $5.5 million cap hit for next season, and then becomes a UFA. So I'm protecting Pelech, Pulock and Mayfield. |

I see ur point, and not disagreeing either way but at 32yrs old and $7m per coming off injury is prob not ideal for SEA to take was really my point for draft
Dobson is exempt i believe |

I agree that Seattle MIGHT not want to commit $7 million per for the next 5 seasons. But I would not want to take that chance, especially considering he's the captain who is looked to for some leadership, in addition to what I said previously.
That's good news about Dobson. That gives Lou more options if he can protect 7 forwards, and I definitely make Lee one of them. |

They would be all over Lee. The guy is an absolute tank, can score, has a unique skill set in today’s NHL, and is a leader. |

Islanders should expose only players that have a cap hit over 5 million. Barzal they will protect. Lee they will protect. Have to clear cap. |

He's also the captain. It would be odd for any team to leave their captain exposed.
