I'm not a 'we' guy. No skin in the game here...other than not wanting to see the team that skirted the cap get rewarded.

If the NHL doesn't address this in the offseason, look for every playoff bound team to suddenly have high dollar players on the LTIR in and around the trade deadline next year.

I don’t blame Tampa I blame the NHL. It’s different when you’re actually playing them and you see what an already stacked team with that additional overage in cap space looks like. The NHL won’t allow it to happen again next year or they’ll figure a way out to level the playing field. Like I said I don’t blame Tampa but it doesn’t make me like them anymore that’s for sure.

Perhaps requiring a player to have a minimum amount regular season games under their belt (either NHL minor league affiliate and/or actual NHL) to qualify for playoff eligibility would be the simple answer. I say that because my memory goes back to Radulov showing up from the Russian league a few years back just in time to suit up for the playoffs with Nashville.
