Based on Kaprizovs small sample size at the NHL level I'd offer 3yrs. At 4 million annually. Why would you give him 8 years on his next deal based on a handful of NHL games?

If you go shorter term, then the price tag goes up, not down. Realistically he is worth $8M, but given his leverage and the Wilds desire for him, they will likely have to overpay to $9M.

8 x 8 would be a fair deal. BUT, he has all the leverage here, and it may require more $$$

I would laugh loudly if he signed in the KHL but in what universe does he have all the leverage? He's not a UFA, he's not even an RFA who can be offer sheeted. He either takes MN's best offer or plays in an inferior league for far less money. What leverage does he have let alone all of it?

CSKA is the wealthiest team in the KHL, he's gonna get paid either way.

No to trading for Jack Eichel!!!! He's a dark cloud and not popular among teammates!! And then theres the Injury. He's the Aaron Rodgers of hockey. No! Save lots of money and get Phillip Danault.

Dark cloud, who ever said he is not popular with teammates. He would help Minny out a lot, possibly push them over the top.

Kaprisov may also be putting pressure on the Wild to get him a talented a centerman. Playing with Rask is not going to advance his career.

Never thought of the Wild as an option for Kuznetsov from the Caps (if they are really looking to shed his contract) but it would make sense for them to get him to center Kaprizov. Only thing that could make this a problem is not wanting Kuznetsov and his party habits to influence Kaprizov. He would likely cost a lot less than the Buffalo players to trade for though.

The KHL has a 900 million Ruble salary cap. That's about 12.5 million US. No, he's not "gonna get paid either way."

I certainly hope the Wild take a solid look at Danault. And as far as Eichel goes, If the Wild are In a rebuild why would you give a kings ransom for one guy who by the way Isn't out of the woods with his neck Injury.

How is he not gonna get paid, yeah he would make more in Minnesota, but maybe 2m and being comfortable somewhere he knows is better, that's still a nice chunk of change.

So you're thinking getting 2 million or 8 million is the same thing? I don't believe most people would agree with you. When people say 'getting paid' when talking about a players next contract, they usually mean getting a deserved huge increase. Maybe you meant he's actually going to get some sort of salary either way.
