I won't make the valley, a few years away i'm afraid. Gonna take the kids out west in a couple of years. The oldest was born there but we left when the youngest was due in a few months.

I love the valley, just try to grow my own stone fruit with middling results.

Quite sad the orchards here back in the day were amazing.

I hear you on the wineries. I read an article awhile back from a chef that said a peach was perfectly ripe for about 20 minutes. It's clearly longer than that but it's not far off. I always enjoyed going through the orchards as a younger man.
