you should definitively give a try one day. pick a final, at wimbledon or ny, between 2 champs, or involving Aliassime who knows he might get there one day. |

no no.
I thought he said he'd retire if they win the cup? that would be most advised imo. |

you actually mean Marc Bergevin..? have you heard anything about him getting fired?
"It came out recently, there was a meeting that I heard that was done in Chicago, I was not part of any meeting, and I was not part of any decision based on that," Bergevin said in a pre-Stanley Cup Final news conference on Sunday. "And I was not aware of anything going on at the time. So you can go on the record with that."

He most likely knew about it.
According to a quote from Nick Boynton, in the Athletic, everyone knew. The entire team of players, coaches and all other staff. The news spread like wildfire when it was revealed and he wasn’t fired, disciplined or anything at all until days after the cup parade. Boynton says anyone denying they knew is full of poop.

oh, is that right... I'm not aware of the details and what actually happened, but I've always perceived MB as an honest individual. then again anyone who knew about the situation and didn't do anything about it at the time will most likely deny being aware of what was going on.
jesus christ, are we going to watch the habs play game #1 of the Stanley cup finals without their headcoach and general manager..?? |

I think he knew after the fact, which is why he said “at the time” or whatever. It’s enough to keep the focus away from him for the finals and whatever happens after will happen.
He’s about as responsible as any player on that team IMO, which isn’t very responsible at all. This all falls on the GM and upper management who were in that meeting and refused to go to the police.
Sure in an ideal world Bergevin could have stood up and prevented it from happening to later on to this either kids but I’m sure he wouldn’t be GM of the Habs if he did. Any of those players could have stood up to but they’re careers could have been cut short as well. It’s a messy situation, at this point I think Bergevin is understandably doing his job, just a bit of damage control and trying to not make it a distraction for the finals. Everything else will come later.
