His cap hit was 5.5 but he made over 9 million/year for quite a few years
- GPHawksfan

I show Keith made 8 million in cash first 3 years of deal and never made anything higher than that

I was going from memory which isn't that great I guess. I know one of him or Hossa made 9M a year. Either way, he made a lot of money with that cap hit.

Thinking about the NSH/LAK trade and what we may be in need of, as well as maybe take advantage of a team unable to protect. Ben Chiarot from MTL is likely not going to be able to be protected (Weber, Petry, Edmundson) and could be a good addition for the 3rd LD.

The crazy thing here is Petry, Edmundson and Chiarot have a NTC. So theyd have to get Chiarot to work with the team and submit a list.

The crazy thing here is Weber does not have any kind of NTC or NMC. This could be MTL's way out of his contract and start working towards the future by leaving him exposed.

Imagine if Seattle took him and he said screw it and retired Nashville would be screwed

well NTC's can be exposed, it's only NMC's that has to be protected

would be interesting if they left Weber exposed though

I dont know why I keep thinking a NTC has to be protected.

Because NY doesn't give out NTCs only NMCs so we're just used to that

I thought they would be on the hook for the whole contract, but 9479 found out it is only one year. still not good though.

Reaves didnt play for Vegas during the playoffs, tell me why you want him and his 1.8 cap hit???

Maybe thats why they lost.

If we can fit Reaves and his 1.8m into that lineup, then we can fit pretty much any 4th line player there.

I think it's reasonable to believe that since Gallant and Reeves have a past and since the owner believes the Rangers got bullied around this season, the Rangers will be interested

Maybe we could still grab him, but we do still retain Rooney as a change of pace for those games where we need a bit more skating and less bruising.

I don’t think Reaves is the answer. I’m all about adding physical players but he’s just a plug at this point.

The #mnwild has signed center Joel Eriksson Ek to an eight-year, $42 million contract that runs through the 2028-29 season.

This is the first of three re-signings the Wild prioritized this summer, with Kirill Kaprizov and Kevin Fiala being the others.

If Gallant wants to play an up tempo game RR isnt the answer.

Seems a little expensive for his production level, no?

Flat cap people going to take longer term less AAV. Skill only 24. Great two way center

Another popular 4th line name that Ive seen is Deslaurier from ANH.

I find it incredibly unlikely because Martinook seems so deeply tied into Carolina and all the charitable stuff, however should Carolina decide to keep Hamilton it may not leave them much room to keep him. I could very much see Carolina leaving Skjei unprotected freeing up the money needed to resign Hamilton.

15th pick and Chytil for Point? Dude has wheels, can win faceoffs and Tampa needs space.

Tampa has to shed salary. A first round pick and promising center? No worse than some proposals I've seen.

I think they’ll work something out with Seattle to take Tyler Johnson, maybe offer to leave Gourde exposed to take Johnson, would free up 10.1 million for them.
