I think they’ll work something out with Seattle to take Tyler Johnson, maybe offer to leave Gourde exposed to take Johnson, would free up 10.1 million for them.

If I was Tampa, Id give strong consideration to exposing McDonagh with Johnson. Hes 32 and has 5 more years of significant cap hit.

If I were Seattle im not sure I’d want a 32 year old with a lot of miles on him for 5 more years.

Someone you brought up that I think would be a great target for the 4th line is Lawson Crouse. 12th in the league in hits last year and has some upside to possibly play on the 3rd line. I’ve read numerous times AZ wants back into the 1st but I’m not giving 15 for him.

I would hope that a deal including Crouse would have Dvorak as the centerpiece.

I’m not as sold on Dvorak as you but think if we got him he could be a solid 3C. I think we need to address who our 1 or 2C is before we worry about whether Chytil can eventually fill that role or we need to make a trade for one.

I think Dvorak can be a solid 2C, if you can even call it that since he will be playing with Panarin.

I find Dvorak's career to be very parallel to Hertl's. He was playing behind Schmaltz and, for a few years behind Stepan. I believe he's definitely got the tools and an opportunity to play with the likes of Panarin can give him a huge boost.

I feel like if we can go into the season with Zib, Dvorak, Barron and Kuraly down the middle, were in a solid place.

Most likely scenario.
Hate that they have been able to circumvent the cap and win the Cup twice. Really hope they get screwed in the expansion draft and have to buyout or trade players.

Feel the same way about Dvorak. Would not be opposed to bringing him on board depending on the cost.

On my AGM, I have it Dvorak/Crouse for Chytil/Georgiev

To each his own, to me that looks worse than Zib Strome Chytil

Losing Georgiev is tough, have to give to get.
Exposing Kinkaid in the draft and hoping he is taken. Seattle is going to end up with a lot of sweeteners to take cap hits like maybe Johnson like 9479 said.

I know Chytil is young and was recovering from injury but he really hasn't sold me on being a center. Obviously I hope to be proven wrong if they keep him.

I think he’s better off on the wing as well. He still has plenty of time. He’s one of those guys if they included him in a trade I’d be ok with it. But at the same time if he was given another season I’d be ok with it also.

Outside of points, which will come playing with Panarin, Dvorak is a better overall player than Strome. Hes way better at faceoffs (which we need), hes far more physical (which we need) and lays down the body.

Before Strome got here, be honest, how excited were you to bring in a center who for years wasnt able to put it together? Before he got here, he was written off as a bust, and his first year with the Rangers was nothing worth talking about. Panarin comes in and like clockwork his career is rejuvinated.

As far as Barron goes, Id be willing to bet that he will exceed expectations and will be an excellent 3C, Jordan Staalesque.

I think his trade value wont get any higher than it is now. Another year of mediocre, soft hockey with a league worst faceoff % will only hurt him.

Last season me either. Stepped up when Hank went down and played pretty well. Admittedly he's nothing more than a backup and I don't know enough about the goalies in Hartford to predict who could step in, but I'd rather have him as the veteran in the room or on the bench than another kid.
We were spoiled with Hank for all those years and have confidence that Shesty can really take the reins and be the number one goalie, don't really have much choice. He'll find his game next season. Really think he wasn't ready for the pressure early on.

Sign me up! Like what I've seen from him more than Chytil. Still hate to say I'm ready to move on, but he really didn't show much before the injury to convince me he's the 3C shutdown guy or capable of 2C. Cut losses and move on. I'd rather play Rooney or Blackwell than Chytil as 3C.

I’m always willing to take chances on guys that have underperformed at the right price. Strome had a few decent seasons with the Isles and had the pedigree to turn it around, same reason I wanted Bennett for the past few years, I think change of scenery can be huge for some guys. I’m not saying Dvorak is bad, but I think your talking up his physical play a bit, the few games ive watched him play I never noticed him as a physical player. I could be wrong though.

Hes not overly physical like Boone Jenner, for example, but hes gritty, hes not afraid to get dirty.

As far as "a few decent seasons with the Isles", he only had 1 decent season in his entire career. After having 50 points his second year with the Isles, he never surpassed 35 points until Panarin signed with the Rangers.

Laying down the body = blocking shots

Thats 48 hits compared to Stromes 22.

Hes involved. Thats all you can ask of a guy, just get in there and get dirty. Strome isnt one of those guys.
