Hes involved. Thats all you can ask of a guy, just get in there and get dirty. Strome isnt one of those guys. - aecliptic
But it doesn’t sound like Dvorak is either. I’ve only watched him a few times wasn’t impressed. Not saying he’s bad, but not saying I’m sold on him being our 2C. |

the biggest priority to the Coyotes is saving money
they had to write a check to Kessel for 5 million on July 1st
I think their priority is to trade Oliver Ekman-Larsson somehow
the next 3 seasons he makes 10,5 million in cash, they are desperate to trade him
they are also looking for guys with high cap hits with lower salary payouts
like Lou Eriksson, he only gets 3 million more in cash this coming season with a 6 million cap hit, that's right up their alley |

They’ve also expressed strong interest in getting back into the first round. Maybe Dvorak and Crouse for 15 and Blackwell? |

I'd definitely do it it's just when you look at their roster this coming season, they have 3 defensemen signed
I could see 15th overall and Zac Jones for a deal like that

David Poile’s motivation for trading Arvidsson was two-fold. First, he wanted more cap-space. That’s why the Kings landed him since other teams wanted to send equivalent salary back. Secondly, the Kraken were going to take him if left unprotected.
“I had a couple of conversations with Seattle, if Viktor Arvidsson was not protected that’s who we would’ve lost,” he admitted to Darren, Daunic, and Chase of 102.5 FM. “Two picks is better than losing Viktor for nothing.”

The thing is, the way I set up my AGM we never traded our 1st rounder. It can be tweaked to be done another way…
- Dvorak/Crouse for 1st rd pick/Blackwell or Georgiev
- Greenway for Chytil
This way we can retain Strome for a yr and get Dvorak.
I really want Barron to have a shot to show he can play as 3C though. |

With all the speculation and rumors around Eichel, I'm surprised to not really see any regarding Reinhart, who would be much cheaper, and take less assets to acquire. He also made it clear he wants out of Buffalo |

Reinhart has mostly played RW. Hes kinda similar to Strome in that respect where he can play both positions, but has mostly played RW. |

Oleksiak is someone I like as a depth signing on the left side. Not sure he’d take a 1 year deal but maybe if we offered more money he would, cap space shouldn’t be an issue. Goodrow is my 4C target, hes 52% career on draws and costs nothing but money. |

Oleksiak might want term with things being so up in the air economically. That would be the deal breaker.
Depending on what Tampa does come expansion draft, Goodrow might wait for Tampa to clear things up. Theres zero incentive for him to leave that team.
Kuraly was 57% on the draw last year, could be a bit of an outlier but hes been fairly decent on the draw.
Glendening would be an awesome pick up. P.E. Bellemare could be a good pick up. |

Not so sure about Kuraly. Face off stats are nice but he was the only Bruin in plus/minus category to be a double digit MINUS player. That's mildly concerning... |

Teams with expansion problems/dilemmas
St Louis - Krug or Dunn
NYI - Leddy or Mayfield
WPG - Stanley Demeo or Niku
CGY - Giordano or Tanev
TBL - Have to expose McD and Foote
- Also have to decide between Killorn Maroon and Gourde (protect Point Kucherov Stamkos Cirelli Palat)
CAR - Bean or Skjei
FLA - Gudas and Forsling exposed |

They’re in cap hell. Teams will have a lot more money to offer than Tampa will. |

For the first time in a decade, Boston's depth outside of the perfection line was pretty bad. Its not perfect, but for a year or two, with the proper moves for the bottom 6, he could do well. |

Those teams are also not the defending 2-time defending Stanley Cup champions. |

If they can afford him is number 1. Number 2 is Tampa isn’t going to be winning the cup forever, that team is going to have some big decisions to make. Also if it comes to an extra couple million over the course of his deal I doubt he leaves millions on the table. |

Like mentioned if they can convince the Kraken to take Gourde and Johnson, its a game changer, or McDonagh and Johnson. |

surprised you didn't list Colorado
probably got biggest dilemma of all
they have to protect Makar, Girard and Toews
but, Erik Johnson also has a NMC and they have to figure a way around that, maybe even buy him out and then there is Ryan Graves |

that's why I like the thought of trying to re-acquire Graves
it's kind of perfect, he's tough, left handed, only signed for two more years for 3.1 mil each year
the reason why Arvidsson was traded by Nashville is because Seattle told them they would take him
maybe the Rangers can make a similar deal, 3rd rounder this year, 2nd rounder next year for Graves |
|
|
|
In 2015 we drafted Ryan Gropp 41st overall. Players that followed him in that 2nd round include Blackwood Cernak Sprong Hintz Greenway Lauzon Rasmus Andersson Yakov Trenin Vince Dunn. Yikes that was a big miss. |

I’d be all for it. I think there’s a decent amount of LHD that will be up for grabs before the draft, not to mention we could try and sign Oleksiak or even re-sign Smith if the prices are to high. |

I think Colorado would have a lot of interest in Zac Jones
he was Makar's replacement at UMASS after Makar signed with Colorado and from what I understand they have a good relationship
Jones for Graves straight up would be tricky one for me though because despite his size I think Jones is gonna very good and could thrive in Colorado

not only did they absolutely botch this entire draft, but they also made the Hagelin deal that day |
