I think Colorado would have a lot of interest in Zac Jones
he was Makar's replacement at UMASS after Makar signed with Colorado and from what I understand they have a good relationship
Jones for Graves straight up would be tricky one for me though because despite his size I think Jones is gonna very good and could thrive in Colorado - jimbro83
I know we have our differences on how the defense should be built, but I look at that Tampa D and there’s just a bunch of monsters back there. That’s what I want our D to look like, come playoff time a small defense with puck movers just doesn’t do it when the games get tighter.
Hedman 6’6 240
Schenn 6’2 225
Sergachev 6’3 215
McD 6’1 215
Cernak 6’3 230
Rutta 6’3 205
Foote 6’4 230 |

Even look at MTL D
Chariot 6’3 235
Weber 6’4 230
Petry 6’3 210
Romanov 6’ 210
Edmundson 6’4 230

I am dying for the off season to start to see what the Rangers are going to do
whether they actually do want to build a defense corps like this and actually will look to trade Jones and Lundkvist, I just cant wait for it to get going
between the expansion draft, regular draft and free agency, things should get very exciting soon

I think it’s great to have a guy like Fox, but I think having more than 1 smallish defenseman come playoff time could be trouble.
Trouba 6’3 205
Miller 6’5 210
Fox 5’10 180
Lindgren 6’ 190
Jones 5’11 185
Nils 5’10 175
I think those last 2 need to be Schneider and Robinson in the future but at least for now maybe someone like Graves/Stanley/Oleksiak paired with Smith on his off side or if Schneider is ready. |

I think bc of Dolan wanting to get harder to play against and more physical that 3rd pair will eventually be Schneider and Robinson. With that said I think Nils and Jones have decent value to teams for 2 reasons, 1 they’re put moving dman and 2nd they’re exempt from the draft. |

honestly he looks waaaaay smaller than that
maybe its because the games he played always seemed like they were against Washington

not only did they absolutely botch this entire draft, but they also made the Hagelin deal that day - jimbro83
Hey, it was no Jessiman!
I went back through that draft the other day. Coulda had Bergeron twice! |

I remember that draft well I was a regular back on the NYTimes Rangers blog in those days along with Jess Rubenstein
Bergeron was actually gone by the time the Rangers picked in 2nd round, but legend had it they chose Ivan Baranka when they had actually meant to draft Michal Birinka, got names mixed up
I dont know, Jess would probably remember it better |

Id prefer not to grab anyone with 2 years, I dont want to keep Robertson down longer than needed.
I personally think that if we put Robertson / Schneider as our 3rd pair, they will shock everyone. |

Right. I don't have best memory. Forgot where we were in relation to Boston, but was shocked to see him as a 2nd rounder.
The quality of guys taken right after Jessiman all the way down to Erikson and Bergeron in the 2nd was infuriating!! Hell, that draft even saw Tyler Johnson go in the 6th and Pavelski in the 7th round! |

my memory of that draft going in was most of us thought they were going to draft Jessiman and that's how it went
thought they would target size and they did
it's hard to find mock drafts and articles from before the 2003 draft anymore, but here's one calling Jessiman the most intriguing player in the draft

I wont, as long as the return is proper.
But then theyll definitely need to trade for a rental LD. |

I think any trade depends on the return
it would shock me if they traded him though

BTW, are you thinking a trade for Eichel is inevitable? |

We cant not trade someone because theyre gonna be good somewhere else, especially if we dont have a spot for the guy and its costing us the chance to be a better overall squad. |

I dont know about an Eichel trade being inevitable or not, I just dont know if it is feasible to add a 10 mil per year player in a flat cap world where they are saying the cap will be flat at least for the next 2 seasons if not 3. Drury isnt stupid. I dont know how any GM in the league will trade for him with his injury being a concern. If you are going to give up assets and then pay him 10 mil wouldnt you want to see him at least play first? Im going against the grain here and say he isnt traded this summer.
I just see as Miller being the most tradable of the defense man. I dont think he is the next Seth Jones or Hedman. His skating is average. |

His rookie season was arguably as good as hedman and Seth Jones. The potential is obvious. You don’t like him for some reason |
