a complete waste. forgettable in every sense from an outsider pov.
a part of me wishes the isles made it - so i'd have something to hate watch and root for. havent even seen a second of it and feel like i've been better for it. - NYRangers1124
yeah it would have been so much more interesting, it's such a dud
now it's going to Montreal where only 3K fans are in the building and it will feel like the damn bubble again

Quebec public health authorities will not allow more fans at the Bell Centre. They'll stick to 3,500 for now. |

one of Carp's question/answers
There’s a retroactive view that the Rangers would have gone to the playoffs if they hadn’t been so “soft.” But before the season, not a lot of folks expected this very young, rookie-laden team to do much more than .500 in their strong division. I look at the cup as more than half-full. James Dolan evidently thought it was below half-empty. What’s your water level and do you think Dolan/Drury/Gallant will keep the momentum going in the right direction? — Norm M.
First of all, I think Dolan was completely wrong in his assessment that the 2020-21 Rangers underachieved or that they should have made the playoffs. Absurd, actually. I think the dream would have been to be competitive down to the final week and perhaps squeak in if another team faltered. That didn’t happen, nor should it have been expected to. I wouldn’t have any worries about Drury and Gallant, but given the temperature rising from the owner’s suite, I would be very concerned about the “momentum” and “direction.” … Patience is a virtue. The owner doesn’t have it. |

that's why anyone dismissing Eichel is very pre-mature about it, or even Tarasenko

Tarasenko is a bit of a stretch. However, Ill never dismiss Eichel til something happens and its finally over, one way or the other. |

it definitely is, but he makes 9.5 mil in cash this season, so it will limit the teams and I wouldn't dismiss him and Panarin wanting to play together

I saw rumors yesterday the Rangers were asking around on Seth Jones. You really can't eliminate any player at this point. Rangers are serious about making changes to be a playoff team next year |

I am just saying just cause we don't want a player or think its too much, I don't think management is feeling the same way. They want to win now |

all the talk about 3rd and 4th liners certainly isn't gonna get Dolan's little Richard hard

I don’t know how you reach that conclusion.
I don’t like either of these teams, but Montreal is the clear underdog and took it to Tampa all night long last night. Only to be stymied by great goaltending, which was on display at the other end as well.
I thought game 2 was highly entertaining. I always hate seeing the end of a season. |

1. You realize youre talking to an RN who worked on the COVID ICU for 2 months between March and May.
2. I dont know where youre getting your numbers from, but I have direct access to the inpatient COVID numbers for my hospital. You'd be really disappointed to know what those numbers are.
3. You seem like the kind of person who, no matter what stage or situation we will be in, will continue to live in fear and cynicism. Will never be able to return to a normalcy, I feel bad for you. At some point you have to wake up and free yourself from the restraints youve been put in and say fk it, I want to live. I hope you find that place some day. |

After watching this years playoffs, there is NO way this team was going to make any noise at all. This Rangers team would have been SWEPT in the first round! The team is comprised of high skill players, but not enough grit to advance. Players didn't know or have their roles defined. Apparently Dolan asked some tough questions to JD and Gorton and didn't like the answers. End of story!
Dolan is many things. But to say that he doesn't/hasn't had any patience with the Rangers is a complete lie! He actually has been a very hands off owner for YEARS.
I am not a Dolan apologist and I greatly dislike many of his public arguments involving the Knicks. However, he has always left the Rangers alone for the last 15 years and I think too many are over reacting and speculating without any real facts... |
