I looked into the Duncan Keith fit with Canucks a little deeper and I would do it. His cap hit will upset the ACGMs but everything else seems to make sense. It of course depends on what the return is .
I will assume it is Roussel or Loui going back the other way (hopefully Loui) and probably a draft pick. Loui's cap hit was going to sit there and do nothing so at least getting an active player back you get some use out of the money.
Keith's actual cost to the Canucks for the two years would be 3.6 in real money which they probably would have used on Edler who is the same age and puts up less points. Keith has 2.1 mil owed this year and 1.5 next year. We would have spent that money anyways.
I watched Keith a few times this year and he still gets up and down the ice and he usually has the puck on his stick when leaving the zone. He is a very smart player . So I would do the short term Keith as long as it was Loui or Roussel going the other way.
That said I believe it will be the Oilers and it will be a very good move for them. |

They both fill big holes here so I’d be comfortable giving up a valuable package - Nucker101

HABS IN 6! - K-man25
Tampa is a different beast than Vegas. Habs kind of beat themselves a bit last night too. Great start and outshooting TBAY but man they need to solve Vasilevsky and soon...he is a wall out there. Wasn't a shock to see Vegas out they usually fizzle out in the 2nd round or so I mean sh!t we almost beat them last year lol... |

Holland’s not that smart plus he has to keep $ for an early Kassian extension.
Duncan is a BC boy, lives on east side road in Penticton. Maybe part of the deal could include weekly lunches with VHG?

Happy Canada Day. It should be relatively cooler today than previous, but stay safe regardless. |

was speculating, it’s not done yet, but all signs pointing to Viktor Arvidsson getting traded to the LA Kings likely today. |

First day of no obedience masks.
Day 13 of quarantine, cooler temperatures, things are looking up. |

Always liked him, he’d be a good add. I also heard they were trying to trade Forsberg last year before they made the playoffs. |

Benning should be fired for his f trades and signings.
Linden was right. Keep drafting and developing players. Bonehead Benning f'd up the program. - MisterBrown

Also, if the UFA market is similar to last year, you can probably sign a legit top 6 winger for around the same AAV as Arvidsson and you get to keep your draft picks. |

I am sure Benning is waiting for Mtl and TBL to finish so he can make real trades

This will be a key for the Canucks moving forward, as the pipeline is pretty bare again. |
