The premise of your statement is wrong. The regular season exists for exactly two reasons:
1. Generate revenue for the teams and league
2. Determine seeding for the only games that matter... the playoffs.
If the regular season meant anything 52% of NHL teams wouldn't make the playoffs, and the President's Trophy winning teams would have a near perfect record in winning the Cup.
The best teams are determined in the playoffs and not before. Tampa and Montreal are the best teams. - lacaprup Right on Tampa DEAD WRONG ON MONTREAL |

MTL is not good.
In a weak Canadian Division they were only3 points over .500 with a negative goal differential. They didn't see anyone nearly as good as TB all season, until now.
Hell, Carolina & Florida would beat them in a 7 game series. Probably Nashville too. - scottak
A whole lot of teams would have beaten the Habs They are offense starved and rely on a goalie to win them games When he can't they can't either |

I guess that depends on your perspective. There's a Canadian team in the finals for the first time in ten years, so I'm sure many Canadian hockey fans would disagree.

This series is turning into the lopsided SCF matchup that many predicted. TBL is so far above MTR it's pathetic. It really does look like what someone would expect from the most stacked team in the league versus a team that didn't deserve to make the playoffs. |

Trying to squeeze The Donald, integrity and common sense into the same thought.
The key words missing there is "lack of".

You are as dumb as a sack of doorknobs maybe even dumber You probably think Biden is a great leader What a Joke and he has a cackling laughing hyena as a VP
Her own state hated her ass She slept her way to where she is - broncohorvath
I love being a tree hugger. The fact that Americans believe they have a choice when it comes to politics is even more funny. There is no choice! Perhaps you should check out the footage of the Gulf of Mexico catching fire today and tell us all how lovely that looks. |

Right on Tampa DEAD WRONG ON MONTREAL - broncohorvath
Was Las Vegas a good team? Toronto? Peg?
Stop pretending the regular season means anything. In fact, it's so meaningless Tampa kept some of their best players from playing in the meaningless regular season because it's simply a formality before the real games begin.

Massive injuries??? you mean 50 year old Johnny T----come on..... - bigmacdaddy
Yes John Tavares, you know- they guy that had more points than any Hab in the regular season?
And Foligno… and Muzzin.
Habs we’re lucky to escape the first round, so not surprised they’re being swept now. |

Don't try to make sense of a Habtard, when everything goes wrong all they do is take jabs at the Leafs and their fans. It makes them feel better.
And when everything goes right they do the same thing.
It's never ending for those people, look I said those people, maybe I should be fired. |

Nope it’s over thanks for coming out. Congrats to Montreal for a great year but the Cinderella story is over. |

Don't forget the refs. They are all against the Habs, and players like Weber and Petry and Edmunson are all perfect gentlemen.

I think Molson should petition the NHL to allow players to be signed during the playoffs. Considering the playoffs are cap free?! |
