So what happens after the sitting on your hands? - Nucker101
As you understand, the don't or can't do crowd want the firing sooner then later. They don't trust the competency to be aggressive. That is why they deny cap moves exist. Even though other NHL teams use them.
I'd rather not have a negative narrative proven and stuck in perpetual rebuild with no swings for success. Formulas for NHL success are often made on a bedrock of failures; as long as, one keeps trying and not sitting on their hands. |

It helps to hit a few balls on the range to warmup before you play. Most sh itty golfers pull out their driver and start teeing it up and trying to hit bombs....bad idea. Always start with your sand wedge and swing easy at it, it’s a scoring/accuracy club not a bombing club so it helps you with an easier tempo. |

Dhaliwal just reported that Beagle is on track and will be ready for training camp and will report healthy.
This is why I said it's silly to presume anyone starts the year on LTIR based on last year's injuries. Roussel will most likely be ready to go as well. That's why you can't overspend in free agency thinking these players will and can just be thrown on LTIR - Codes1087

Very good news Cap.
Would be nice to see Beags, Sutts, Rous and LE all dressed for puck drop in the fall.

I haven't read much lately for comments on here but has anyone thrown out the idea of trading with Seattle.
Been said that Seattle might be picking players and trading them later. Maybe that's how Van gets a 3lc.
Schmidt wants out, get a 3lc from Seattle for him. |

If Seattle says, "we'll select Loui Eriksson but you've gotta give us Jack Rathbone for doing so".....would you do it?
A similar situation played out with Vegas and Minnesota as Alex Tuch was traded to the expansion Vegas Golden Knights as part of an agreement with Vegas that the team would select Erik Haula in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft. |

Not a chance.
Maybe that happens from someone else though and next thing you know it Van has traded Schmidt to Seattle for the next William Karlsson.

I hope Rathbone is traded for a young RHD by then.

Aatu Raty, C, Karpat-Liiga: Raty was considered to be a top prospect in this class at one point, but he had a poor draft season and saw his stock fall considerably.
“I think he was just one of those guys who was more physically advanced than other players at an early age, I never believed in the hype. He’s a worker with some skill, but I don’t see a ton of hockey sense in his game.”

I wouldn't make that trade. Rathbone, IMO, is the closest thing this team has to an all-situatiins defender, other than Myers. |

For the record, I wouldn't do it either. I'd let Edler walk and replace Schmidt with Rathbone all the while getting an asset back for Schmidt. |

I don't have a problem bringing Edler back because TG this year didn't let any of the younger players play hard minutes or PK time.
You just can't let TG lean on Edler the same as he did last season. Kind of same situation as Tanev the year before at some point, got to find out what's there without him. Which it wasn't all that pretty, which is why I'm fine with bringing Edler back in case things aren't always smooth, you can have him in there.
You have Hughes, Rathbone, OJ all needing to start playing full time. There will be injuries and highs/lows of the younger players. I have no problem having a 4 man rotation on the left side of defence if Edler comes back at very cheap. Safety net basically. |

Value is a hard thing to predict because it means different things to different GM's, depends on what their needs are.
I like Colton Sissons game as a third line center, he's only 27 years old, no not because he's from BC, and I like Mattias Elkholm from Nashville as well. They're apparently looking to shed some salary and both are bigger guys who can skate and defend fairly well. |
