I heard a lot of people were pissed at Gauds and Canucks acted quickly. I don't think it was anything other than get this dumb f*ck away from me. - VANTEL
Yeah I kind of figured some of the guys were pissed at him so Benning made a quick decision to get him out of town. |

Zack MacEwen or Braden Holtby....that's my guess. Motte makes sense as well though, good bottom six guy. - LeftCoaster
Those three are my guesses as well |

Canucks can choose to protect Motte or make a deal with Seattle. Not a deal where Seattle is holding all the leverage though because Canucks aren't worried about losing something really. |

The Canucks don't have a lot of good players to pick from so it's really a non-issue regardless of who they take. |

Exactly so depending on who Seattle chooses, Van could make a hockey trade with them after. |

I think Seattle takes either Lind or Gadjovich, if they aren't protected.
This way they have some prospects in the system.
There are a few teams that don't have much to offer, so why not take someone not yet in the league. |

I wonder if more or less deals will be made this time around in the E-draft.
Last time in a few deals teams ended up giving up more than if they would have just let a player be chosen.

It is not all doom and gloom . Yes Canucks don't need to worry about Seattle draft but keep in mind Rathbone Hughes Hoglander and Podkolzin don't need to be protected.
I think Canucks have around 14 very good players and need to upgrade about 9 players over the next two years.
This core is very young. |

Somebody needs to replace Nucker in the Jan Levine draft on here. |

I expect he will select Lysell. |

I was thinking you should do it instead but I had my concerns about who you would pick as well
Did you see Will Scouch's video on Cole Sillinger? It's an interesting case for a player that nothing ever makes sense. It just seems as if he has a tool kit every team dreams of without the ability to use the right tool at the right time always.
I wouldn't say it's his hockey IQ is low, it might be just more attitude and maturity. |

Not the worst idea but I feel we can get more for Schmidt and convince Seattle to take Holtby as a Vet goalie for whatever starter they select. |

Jim Benning says the Canucks will be better next season because they're heading back to the Pacific Division.
Putting Seattle aside for a moment, I took a look at how all the Pacific teams fared last season, and why California might not be as much of a cakewalk as it first appears...

Well, they won’t have an AHL team for another season, so they’ll just be loaning guys out to other clubs this year. |

Aatu Raty, C, Karpat-Liiga: Raty was considered to be a top prospect in this class at one point, but he had a poor draft season and saw his stock fall considerably.
“I think he was just one of those guys who was more physically advanced than other players at an early age, I never believed in the hype. He’s a worker with some skill, but I don’t see a ton of hockey sense in his game.”

Hasn't changed my opinion. Can't wait to watch him prove whoever wrote this drivel wrong. |
