If Kaprizov is refusing to sign in Minny, I think this might work

He would be absolutely lethal playing with EP. Greenway would be a great versatile winger to have play anywhere in the top 9

- Nucker101

Honestly these deals should be bannable kap is rumored to sign in minny any day, dumba for boeser somehow still exists

Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Matiss Kivlenieks has died after suffering an apparent head injury in a fall, the team announced Monday. He was 24.
- NorthNuck

Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports that an autopsy revealed that Kivlenieks died of chest trauma due to a fireworks mortar blast, not the head injury that was originally reported.

(frank) man, that's sad and terrible. Also, did the fireworks misfire, or was there some stupidity/alcohol involved and someone was trying to joke around with them?

It's been reported that it was a malfunction and they were fleeing a hot tub when he was hit/fell, so hopefully no one at fault

Well in Carol's blog Johnson and McTavish are top 5. Lucious you always refer to as 9OA option yet in draft rankings you posted he was 39th. Quite the reach for your 3C of the future search. Can't we be happy just using JTM there for now and draft D?

Dhaliwal just reported that Beagle is on track and will be ready for training camp and will report healthy.

This is why I said it's silly to presume anyone starts the year on LTIR based on last year's injuries. Roussel will most likely be ready to go as well. That's why you can't overspend in free agency thinking these players will and can just be thrown on LTIR

Why not? TB did it. GM just needs to have that secret conversation.

Sensational Rick has given 150 different reports on Beagle and I don't think any two were the same.

If Bennings big move to upgrade the bottom 6 is bringing Jay B off LTIR then I will personally fly the next plane and banner.

I thought Beagle played pretty decently this year after coming off of a so-so season

my point was mainly just to pump the brakes on anyone who thinks anyone will start the year on LTIR based off of last years injuries, and their cap will come off the books, and Benning can presumably spend that space in free agency.

He is a steady guy good on PK and I don't mind him .

The thing that stands out for me since the Canucks got eliminated was when Benning said the media does not know what is being said or what has been talked about behind closed doors.

I am waiting to see who signs and who gets moved.

If Beagle plays that is fine. I would be surprised if he did play this year for Canucks but if he does fine.

I think we all know we are all just guessing .

Buying out Loui cost more actual cap dollars than not buying him out. The only advantage would be getting 900 K in cap space this year but costs a mil next year.

My guess is still Jake and Holtby and maybe Ferland but you get more cap relief leaving Ferland on LTIR

Thanks Carol, as always, an excellent blog.

My 5 must read/listen to hockey people

Carol Schram
Karine Haines
Jennifer Botterill
Kevin Bieksa
Bob McKenzie.

Not necessarily in this order, but it is nice to see women make my list, as some of the best in the hockey world.

I think Beniers and that Hughes kid are overrated, but will be happy if Clarke is available at #9.

Depending on the return there will be some savings in Schmidt. Schmidt + for Reinhart and then sign Montour in UFA or something like that?
