Svechkov at 9 is a real reach. Much better players that bring higher attributes at 9 than him.

I put Clarke ahead in my rankings by one spot over Sillinger and I regret looking at Clarke ahead because I don't want him ahead but it's not as if you can ignore talent, Clarke is just a talent that I currently don't think the Canucks need.

I only like 2 defensemen in the 1st round, Power and Edvinsson, there are many nice looking defensemen available in the 2nd and beyond.

Not all that high on Clarke, personally.

my point was mainly just to pump the brakes on anyone who thinks anyone will start the year on LTIR based off of last years injuries, and their cap will come off the books, and Benning can presumably spend that space in free agency.

Look its a pretty simple concept. LTIR is used if over cap. To get there they got to land the big fish.

You think they'll pass because Beagle, Roussel, etc. are holding them back. If that was the case then JB would've been fired. But FA has given Canucks management the mandate to be aggressive this off season. If you believe that means stand pat and wait a season then you'll get your wish in his firing.

I'm just reiterating why you can't project lineups for next year or plan for a bunch of free cap space based on the previous years injuries. Canucks haven't played in over 2 months now, that's a ton of recovery time for most injuries/surgeries. Ferland would be my only guess as to a canuck that starts the year on LTIR

If Clarke is BPA you take him. He can either be traded for that need later, or can make Hughes or Rathbone expendable to be traded for that need.

We used it before also as did many teams. We had Boeser on LTIR to get Toffoli .
