TB changed how LTIR is supposed to be used until 2026.
- Retinalz

Kucherov had surgery

If it was intended the way everybody thinks it is, LE would have been on LTIR every year since year 2 of his 6 year contract

I like the look of the D on montreal and tampa. They are big and mobile. One small waterbug dman is probably enough imo.
- MisterBrown

Clarke is 6'1 180, two way dman by all scouting reports ive read. Real waterbug!

From all the D I’ve read up on the better defensive D are ranked in the 2nd & later rounds. The good passing skating offensive types rated higher. So imo it comes down to preference. Leaves us more defensive options to get RHD later.

Seems to work for Colorado, Nashville and others.

Colorado has Makar and Sam Girard.

I don't think we're deep enough anywhere to say we don't need more of a certain type of player...except maybe goalie

- dbot

I wouldn't say it "works" for Colorado. I don't think Clarke is ever going to get to Makar level.

Are you just looking at defensemen or are you taking into style of play and level that they play at?

Nashville has Ellis is their most actual offensive defensemen, everyone else is just good.

You can still have another defensemen that puts up points but is more than just an offensive defensemen.

Pointless to buyout LE Roussel & Beagle.
- Nighthawk

Why would you not want to save 2M on LE? Canucks probably have no intentions to play him.

He's not an offensive defensemen. He can play defence. Back to square one of having one offensive defensemen and others that are all around good.

They don’t save 2m. Only 875k 1st year if non roster & lose the extra 1m 2nd year.

You save 1.05m sending him to Abby, so you only save an extra 950k by buying him out. Then you spend 1m the following year. Not worth it.

That's a pretty impressive -14 in a league that's probably worse than the BCHL.

Worse that he was almost a PPG player. Doubling the amount of goals he is on against than for.

Unknown. Schmidt will be gone with his 6m cap. Who knows what it costs to replace him.

15M this year and next year 46M. There's 31M difference.
