I agree. But I’m not gonna take a deal without Zegras because Henrique is coming back.
I’m saying with jack and Sam heading out a young center needs to be coming back! - Gr8daygo
Well we agree, I actually think I answered you a ways back, what if Rhino gets that C, but that doesn't mean you still can't nab Bernier to. |
|
|
|
Maybe but aren't we getting 2 and there 2nd too, or since Risto isn't included the 2nd isn't included. - Buff36
I don't know where it ended up. Just feels like they need some actual assets to make a deal work.

Well yeah, technically like you said the trade would take place after the Expansion draft. Swap of 1st and 2nd would be a handshake until Expansion draft is over, you select Graves or Foote maybe Vanecek for us and then we make the swap of picks and you send such player in the trade. |

Tell you right know Adams likes what Cozens and Mitts brings to the table. - Buff36
That's great. Is either a number 1? I believe the answer is no. |

I’ll laugh my ass off if the Sabres say “no thanks” to Owen Power and he ends up better than Dahlin.
It will be so Sabres-esque to draft an average forward and pass up a 6’6 offensively gifted D man - OneKaneOneCup
It would be Sabres esque to pick the 3rd or 4th best player available with their pick.
If Owen Power ends up being a top pair d-man in the league I’ll eat poop |

Maybe not, but if you draft Bernier or get Turcotte or Vilardi gives you 3 possible good one's down the middle. Which you can win with. |

I’ve been thinking about this for a while. Obviously we see different in him. He dominated in the tourney with NHL players. Yes, not the best players but still NHL talent. As much as we all don’t like Miller, there’s no denying that he’s at least a number 5 dman. Power is already better, at 18, then miller is. Right now, I think he slides into at least lower of a middle pairing, obviously with much room to grow. I think I like him because his floor is probably good middle pairing with his ceiling being top pairing, possibly a number one at some point. It sure isn’t a reach to say that, at least I don’t think as he’s drawing a comparable to Drysdale, who again floor middle pairing ceiling number 1 |

I believe Power can be a 2nd pairing NHL d-man for a long time.
I just think Beniers and Eklund have better careers.
I don’t fault the Sabres for taking Power because he is a safe pick. |

They're surely going to need more than 3 possible good ones to be a quality team, so let's not act like getting one of the 3 you mentioned above is enough long term, because it's very likely not. |

Well it’s not like there won’t be any other drafts after this year to address it long term…
Get three possible good ones this year and you may get a stud next year |

And you have some in the pipeline already.
Mitts and Cozens look promising.
Gus. Asplund. Pekar. Show promise in the Larry roll.
Eakin should be no where near the Sabres.
UFA grizzled vets…
You still need a high end prospect or 2 at the center position coming back from a jack and sam trade. But you aren’t starting from zero. |

Between Eichel and Reinhart getting traded or our #1 pick you are getting a center there. I agree.
You either get the center in a trade or get a defenseman in the trades and then taking Beniers at number 1

I know Eichel is the biggest name in this article, and the one we care about the most, but it seems that Oliver Ekman-Larsson has been an offseason trade rumor for about a decade now.

I don't know, any day could be, I can tell you they are exchanging names with a couple teams and a counter offer was submitted to Buffalo yesterday. |

Yeah, be interesting to see if they can move him this time, that contract is a killer. |
