He’s better than Ristolainen and it’s not remotely close man.

I’m not sure why you’ve limited the research to two random years of their career either but from what I remember Zacha has some strong defensive metrics for at least a few years of his short career.

Nothing is being reported, but initially it sounded like they were only going to release the records to a team who essentially agreed to a compensation package.

Tarasenko's value is in the tank and he 'should' be completely healed. Think it's a bit of a different scenario.

Can you show me how and when he ever excelled defensively?

Every number, every chart says he's basically Tage Thompson on defense. If you can show me a model that shows otherwise, I would love to learn.

He's played 5 full (w/ injuries) seasons.

The league went a little too conditional crazy a few years ago. You can see why the PA would take issue with the re-sign condition. It actively discouraged the team from resigning the player.
