Yeah, and there's a 99.999% chance they'll get a pittance for Eichel. 3 and Comtois plus parts? GTFO, seriously that's dogpoop. Jack is a superstar, that's not a superstar price. I would grumble if that was the return for Reinhart. That's way more insulting because at least Drury and Briere exercised their option. They're going to give Eichel away despite maintaining control for 5 more (frank)ing years.

regardless of the return (which includes at minimum in your argument a third-overall pick and a young player with 23+28 in 94 games at the age of 22) for jack, the sabres will still be getting more than the combined return for drury and briere, which was zip...
point 2, the '07 sabres were coming off of back-to-back ecf appearances and were playing the most exciting hockey since at least lafontaine/mogilny and quite possibly since the french connection...the high that sabreland was enwrapped in hadn't been felt since the '99 scf run and in a matter of a few hours in july, 2007 the buzzkill was ferocious and completely disheartening...
