If Pegula had only listened to Jerry Sullivan, Paul Hamilton and the fans when he bought the team in 2011, the team would be in a much stronger position and with a much greater reputation. - RichardRoma

I would think we will see movement on the Eichel and Reinhart fronts after the expansion lists are handed in.
I also don’t have sources so who really knows. - Pegullaville

Except, the fans (and the local media) don't trust Adams and Karmanos - RichardRoma
The fans/media level of confidence doesn’t matter though
Let’s see what these trades end up being,
AND THEN we can judge |

They’ve got their work cut out for them.
There are fans who would be mad if all of that happened just because they would want to be mad or know nothing about 75% of those players.
Also who cares what Mike Harrington has to say? - Stripes77

My insider sources are saying.
It's all the fans fault the Sabres are bad.
IF the Peguals would just stop listening to the fans they would be better, GMKA and Karman are trying to convince the Pegulas, its close but it could also fall apart.
The Pegulas are asking for the fans help, that don't pretend to know more about hockey and the day to day goings ons then the average folks.
They also have never publicly stated that they are better than the fans.
The fans need to trust in them and totally just ignore the last 10 years.

I think the devil's trade is fair
I don't think it would happen but is fair
I also don't know if there is that much of an upside from powers over Hughes, powers may have the tools but he may not he as effective...... better defensively but Hughes may be better than his brother in Vancouver
I know people have brought up risto and the devil's here too but I have seen nothing from the devil's side that say that they are targeting him and with the devil's analytical team they would probably stay away from him
Subban severson
Smith risto
Bahl ? - dmarsden2988
Just saying, personal opinion, this is highly doubtful. Quinn was further along when he was drafted per scouts and also he took off after entering the league. Assuming that's a possible outcome is fine, but he projects to be Hughes the Lesser.
Agreed with the rest. Risto to NJ seemed odd. I would expect a WC team looking to add weight to consider, if any. |

Per source -
Sabres are likely to make trades, teams are calling, conversations are being had. Details are subject to change.

I have no solid opinion on this either way besides to say that Quinn Hughes is massively over rated and is one of the worst D men in the NHL at defense |

Maybe as a defender. In the offensive zone he's a natural. Without looking I'd bet he's top10 in points for defenders or close to it. I think the downgrade from Tanev to Hamonic as his D-partner was big. He's still very young and needs to be sheltered a bit defensively, that's all, pretty normal for guys his age.
Edit: I looked. He finished 11th in points this year, 5th last year. I was off by 1. |

Luke has 4" on his brother which could help him in the defensive zone |

https://www.diebytheblade.com/2021/7/8/22566963/there-is-no-ideal-trade-package-for-jack-eichel-nhl-buffalo-sabres-hockey - Anderdog
That’s why it’s important to get as many high end pieces as possible
Not any single piece we get back is likely to replace Eichel adequately
BUT, if we get enough good young pieces that work out…. They can (hopefully) help form a part of a good young core that we can build around
And then a little luck in the ‘22 & ‘23 drafts wouldn’t hurt either
Obviously none of this is ideal,
but it’s where we’re at unfortunately
