yeah, I was definitely wrong about him.

However that's still light years better than Ristolainen

Defensively, they provide equal value.

I believe Cirelli can be a 60 point Center.
- Pegullaville

I swear you said he'd be a higher point producer than that last offseason because I know we had the discussion where I disagreed, as you used the Couturier comparison that I objected to.

The divorce is happening, and before next season, whether we like it or not.

Sure but one is an actual defensmen who sucks at defense.

The other is used as a shut down FWD and shouldn't be.

Zacha would be the better player to put in a lineup

Get on with it already. Very curious about Reinhart though. Although my guy said 100% gone. So, I dunno. I personally think there's a chance he stays if he gets a 6-7 year deal.

Don't disagree what so ever. I made sure to put in every post that Zacha was a far superior player, which honestly isn't hard. But the discussion of him being this great defensive player is hogwash and compares to Ristolainen in effectiveness on defense alone.

Cirelli is averaging a higher PPG than Couts did at this point in their career.

It took Couts an extra 50 games to get to the 116 points Cirelli currently has in 218 games.

Does that mean that Cirelli is going to explode to a PPG ? No.

However last offseason nobody wanted the guy cause they said he’d be a 40 point guy his entire career and I believe players of that elk hit their primes between the ages of 26-29 and he can definitely increase his point output.

1st, I definitely wanted Cirelli.

2nd, only comparing their NHL careers is not painting the full picture when attempting to equate the two. Look further back and you'll see Couturier was a strong scorer in juniors while Cirelli was not.

I have a difficult time seeing Cirelli as a 70 point or better player as he never showed that kind of scoring potential during his career.

Gotcha, thought you said you'd need them to add to give them Risto for Zacha.

I'm off my game today

He had a bad season, and it's easy for me to pile on, but his entire playing track record does not hint at high end scoring ability.

You're probably right but this is a poor negotiating strategy that Adams/Pegula is employing. It gives the leverage to the other GM's if they know the Sabres want to move Jack before the start of the next season. As others have posted, if Adams doesn't get 1 of Byfield/Zegras + their 1st rounder - he should simply walk away. After all, Jack is signed for another 5-years. The Sabres are going to miss the playoffs next year with/without Jack in the line-up.

Jack is a top 10 talent. Adams needs to hold firm. Or walk away.

My biggest concern is Terry/Kim are going to force Adams into making a deal - any deal - this off-season.

Agreed, but I consider the 3rd overall and Comtois as a quality starting point while others I'm sure do not.

Trading 8th OA for Monahan was definitely more popular.

To each their own though.

The Pegulas hate being embarrassed more than anything. I have a feeling they won't let an O'Reilly deux happen.

Hopefully I don't get banned for mentioning His name.
