Don't need to. Sam signing an offer sheet would be the same as when Aho did...thanks for signing him to the contract for us. We aren't cap strapped. 34m to play with, but beyond that it comes down to the os compensation now.

Under 8M, we just resign him and thank the team who did it (Aho and MTL). If a team is willing to go over 8.3 or whatever, then it's 2 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd...plus signing Sammy to a very large contract for a 60pt guy. I just don't see the juice being worth the squeeze there for either scenario...us or other teams.
