Maybe they have hopes to slide him the top 4 next year to see what he can do? At least until the TDL where they can upgrade.

Toronto needed to have eligible defencemen available to expose to Seattle. Before today they didn’t have that available to them, and needed to sign one of Dermott, Bogosian, or Hutton signed. Dermott basically had “give me a decent deal or sign a vet” available to him here.

I think it's the "bit crazier" bit that I'm not quite sure of. There's 55 years of pent-up failure and frustration that could be a powder keg ready to explode.

Plus, with all due respect to the Raptors, Leafs fandom is orders of magnitude larger than the Raps.

At first I thought it was high but 2 years seems like it could be a good deal. Maybe he’ll grow into a really good 5th defenseman.

I am cool with coming back with the same D...give Bogosian the boot if he doesn't want to be the 7th D to Sandin.

Kerfoot is as good as gone..he is a tad overpaid and primed to be picked in the expansionists draft or traded at the draft.
