Our game is based on forecheck primarily but we don’t skate circles around anyone which TB did. This is the kind of game we need to play if we want to beat these guys when we are back in our regular division next season, we also need to get a mobile puck moving d so they can join the attack

Everybody seems to think Tampa is automatically going to spank us next season. While they certainly will remain a force, they will lose quite a bit because they are in total cap hell. Not to mention, the effect of two long cup winning playoff runs may take a toll as the season wears on.

agreed. they will still be good, they have the best goalie, the best dman.... but not as strong as this year. they'll lose many players.
and same thing next year when Point will need a new contract.

Exactly. And again, no denying they may start running out of gas later in the season and get to the playoffs already exhausted. I think the last team to win 3 cups in a row is Gretzkey's Oilers. Next to impossible to three-peat in this era. Especially with a shortened off season.

Just heard Gallagher’s house was robbed. Sorry for that but you kind of deserve it if that is your choice of so called music in your twatter youniverse.

They really need to address that soon. Fine if some players come back in time for the playoffs, but a team should not be aloud to ice anything ovr the cap. Mix and match the existing and returning players all you want, but all teams should be cap compliant even in the playoffs.

Agreed. But the hawks did it first with Kane within the last decade or so that o can remember so why not use that loophole if a player goes under surgery like Kuch did?

I agree, I am sure the Habs or any other team would have done the same if they were in Tampa's position. A team would be very stupid not to. Just saying they need to close the loophole and make it so regardless of who is on the ice in the playoffs, it cannot exceed the regular season cap.

Yeah, that's what I meant earlier. Besides Weber's and Petry's hands being busted which meant Dmen point shots weren t ever a factor, we don't have any D who can pinch effectively. That's why I don't at all care if we lose Chiarot to Seattle and we can put his money to trying to get a good, mobile dman to help keep the cycle alive and help with exits out their zone. We noticeably lacked both of those skills.

Tampa was 1 of 2 teams to vote back in 2015 to close the LTIR loophole. 28 wanted it, now they are all being punished.

Yeah, I read that somewhere recently. Pretty sure they regret that now. And when they voted, Chicago was 5 milion over. Should have closed that poop off right there and then for the following season.

If they don't close the loophole, and a Canadian team ends up winning a cup because of it, trust me, they will shut that down immediately.
