deadpoulet asked what the leafs are going to do. I listed things that have been speculated through the media. The team expects JC to play 50-55 games in the season. So yes, in their mind, they are looking for a backup
I never implied anything |

to be fair he had his moments, no?
They just lack depth in general. |

having his moments in regular season when you have a 15 point lead in 1st place (and your team is scoring 5 goals per night), and leading your team to the cup are 2 very different things. the goal he gave to Gallagher in game7 should have raised some flags .
imo they need a #1G, a top4 D (a guy like Chiarot or Edmunson) and a lot more grit up front.

So, who are you guys hoping to have join the team this off-season? Saad interests me, as well as Schwartz if available for the left wing. Nothing much available for puck moving left handed defenseman, so the trade route might be needed. Matthew Tkachuk would be interesting, but what's the cost. I like his sand paper like game, and he can score, but seems a bit slow out there. That's me being picky though. |

they signed some vets, but vets who never won anything. at the end of the day that made the difference. Staal, Perry... guys who have won flipped the series with their leadership. Price was stellar of course, his best series of the 4 imo. |

they need a top LW and depending on the SEA draft, maybe a LD

keefe also wasn't playing them properly. Simmonds is known for being a pp net front guy, barely played it. Spezza played too much on the 4th making him useless. Also, never resting thornton. Guy started the season on a 1/4 tank |

Depends who is coming back or not.
They pretty much need a LW, should be ok at centre if Danault is back (and KK), but they might shop for a D or back up. It depends what they lose to Seattle.
I would aim at Hall or Tarasenko, but if they can find a guy similar to Toffoli, that would be great.
Dunn or Dumba on D could be target. Less so Savard, but could be an option if they lose Chariot. |

You think they would go with Primeau if Seattle takes Allen? I'm not really sure. |

Primeau needs to play, and being with the black aces might be nice and everything but because of that he barely had any ice time. not sure where he's at exactly in his development but he probably isn't ready just yet.

I wouldn't mind. he'd play almost the same number of games as a backup in Mtl than he would as the starter in Laval. but ideally 1 year or 2 in Laval would be best imo. |

btw Bouchard changed his story on JiC, and he told Bergevin to wait until the playoffs were over for contract negotiations...

Hopefully we see poehling and Fleury in depth role. More minutes to Romanov.
Big year for KK.
I think they must sign Danault and then figure the rest out. |

if I'm not mistaken, in the AHL they often play 3 games during the weekend, so the starter only plays 2 out of the 3. |

yeah but with 72 games in a regular AHL season he's bound to play more than 25 games...

he might play more games as a starter in Laval, but not that much. the backup in Mtl will have 35+ games, more if Price is injured. and lets be honest, that will happen. |
