if I'm not mistaken, in the AHL they often play 3 games during the weekend, so the starter only plays 2 out of the 3. he might play more games as a starter in Laval, but not that much. the backup in Mtl will have 35+ games, more if Price is injured. and lets be honest, that will happen.

35+..? damn. sure he'll play that many if Price isn't healthy, but otherwise if you want to give such a high portion of games to the backup then I doubt Primeau is ready for that.

they will want to rest Price as much as possible, so yes 35+ for the backup is to be expected imo. ideally they keep Allen and Primeau starts in Laval.

in that case let's hope Allen stays, or if he doesn't then MB needs to look for a more experienced backup.

with all the picks MB has in the bank, I would be very surprised if he doesn't strike a deal with SEA to keep Allen.

yeah this has been brought up a few times here, it would make sense (as long as he doesn't have to overpay, obviously)

Depends who is coming back or not.

They pretty much need a LW, should be ok at centre if Danault is back (and KK), but they might shop for a D or back up. It depends what they lose to Seattle.

I would aim at Hall or Tarasenko, but if they can find a guy similar to Toffoli, that would be great.

Dunn or Dumba on D could be target. Less so Savard, but could be an option if they lose Chariot.

I haven't seen Dumba play in almost 2 years..... does he bring much offense? How is he in his own zone?

If I'm am being honest, I don't really have the eye test. Just by reading, he might fit the bill.

habs cap situation is gonna be tight. might best to lose Allen and sign one of the many back-ups on the market this off-season or start grooming the kid

let say SEA take Chiarot, with Tatar and Drouin out, that's 14M out the door. no cap problem what so ever.
