There were rumblings a couple days ago that they were going to protect him, which surprised me. Haven’t heard anything since so don’t know how much weight I put into that. |

Lightning celebration in the park after the boat parade has been cancelled due to.....wait for it.....lightning.

They still partied in the rain amongst the Lightning and Thunder. 2pm mid summer outdoor event... not well thought out but from the looks of it no one cared and everyone had a great time regardless. |

I can't believe people are actually upset about this. It was not disrespectful. SMH - stammerman
I thought it was great. And Kuch spraying the local news crew with beer was hilarious. He must get sick of hearing the same bullpoop "What's it like to win in front of your home crowd?" 200 times in the last week. I'd spray them with Bud pisswater also. |

You didn’t go to the boat parade! We had a blast! - Justbecause
I couldn't go. I was running around to see doctors and pharmacists today.
I probably wouldn't have went anyway. The traffic was a nightmare and I'm not a crowds type of guy. I've been watching highlights on the web today. Looks like it was a blast. Kuch and Maroon were in rare form.
Is it just me, or does Maroon have a Dan Bilzerian vibe going? No offense to Maroon, because Bilzarian is a douchebag, but there is something about his look and swagger that is similar.

Michael how would you do the protection list? You think it’s true that Stammer was asked again to relinquish NMC? Was it to leave him unprotected for Seattle or trade? |

Briesbois not asking Stamkos to waive his NMC - https://www.tsn.ca/tampa-...-seattle-kraken-1.1667709 - GalacticStone
I think that whatever Stamkos wants to do the Lightning will honor it. If you really look at when he signed that deal and took a lot less it was the catalyst for all the other players to take less and build a team with so much depth to win 2 cups.
He is not what he once was but he is still a prolific goal scorer. If he wants to stay they will make it work, if he wants to leave they will facilitate a trade. I do think Stamkos will retire early, would not shock me in the least if he called it a career when his contract is up from all the injuries'. |

I think that is a plausible scenario. He has battled so many injuries.
Another scenario I see is - he will play one final season (maybe two) in Toronto before retiring.

Any chance the Lightning could get Suter and Parise on a sweetheart $1M-2M/year deal so they can get a great chance at a Cup? They are already getting paid so wonder if they value Cups vs. $$. Who thinks Brisebois and Yzerman have a 5 year text thread going? Who thinks that includes plans to help this offseason? I predict some interesting deals between the 2 teams again... Maybe even taking Cernak or McDonough and "holding" them through the Kraken Draft, just to return them back to Tamp and maybe even retaining salary. That would be the ultimate Eff-You to the Salary Cap. Stevie Y - "We decided to return McDonough and pay $5M of his salary and in return the Lightning sent us this case of Bud Light". |

I don't think it's a question of any other team being interested. He wasn't willing to waive last offseason; I don't expect anything will have changed, but you never know. - Michael Stuart
Probably right about that, but you guys clearly don't need him. As an outsider, I thought he was nowhere near as affective as about 75% of your roster. Eating that much cap space, I am sure he will be moved if that NMC is lifted. Point and Cerelli have proven themselves as great centres on an elite squad. |

Stammer didn’t take a lot less, despite we pay no state tax here. Hedman took less. Our Russians took more and that’s the norm they always hold the K card. Not trash talking our boys. It is what it is! |

Agree to disagree, Stamkos was offered 11M from other teams according to an article I read so he took a discount to stay to help the CAP. Hedman took way less for sure. When Kucherov resigned he could command so much more... look at the Panarin deal only one year later. And Vasilevskiy took less as well when you look at Sergei and Price's deals also Vasy's deal is when he was 26 but those guys were in there 30's so the Lightning get the best goal tender thru his prime for a decent rate - with a goalie as good as he is his cap is fine.
