Button thinks they should offer Danault 4 million for 4 years, that guy is on meth
Bergy should bring Saad in, would be a great replacement for Tuna on the Danault/Gallagher line
Who's going to Seattle? Allen? Chiarot? Evans? I think it's gonna be Lehkonen...
Drouin? How does that end? Probably not gonna be a Hab next season
Corey Perry, no brainer, anytime... I'll pay that guy just to watch from the bench when he's in his 50's
How good are Poehling's chances at making this team next year? Fleury needs to make the team too - obie
Say this is our lineup for next year
Saad/Coleman Danault Gallagher
Toffoli Suzuki Caufield
Poehling KK Anderson
Lekhonen Evans Byron
Ekholm Weber
Edmundson Petry
Romanov Fleury
Price
Allen
Are we a good enough team on paper to make the playoffs next season back in the Atlantic division with 82 game schedule? |

Coleman is about to get overpaid I'd imagine and how are the Habs acquiring Ekholm?
Is that roster good enough to make the playoffs if the divisions go back to normal? Sure, but I wouldn't call them a lock. From a regular season standpoint Tampa, Toronto, Florida as of now look like the top 3, Detroit, Ottawa and Buffalo look like the bottom 3. If Boston ends up substantially worse or if five teams from the Atlantic make it then the Habs are looking ok. As always they still would need a lot to break their way |

We have Tatar + Drouin + Armia + Staal off the books if we have takers for Drouin. I think Coleman may get $4.5-$5MM AAV Chiarot likely going to Seattle. Make a trade for Ekholm with prospects and picks. All hypothetical scenarios see if it plans out. OTT maybe the dark horse next season. The biggest break we will need as well as other teams is staying away from injuries |

Giving Coleman that kinda money is a scary proposition especially if there's term attached to it. Ekholm has one year left on his deal so unless there is a reasonable extension in place before trading for him, it isn't worth the assets it would cost in my opinion. MB has done a good job the last few years identifying guys that play the type of d he wants on fair deals so oddly I trust him on this one thing |

The key also here is MB planning to sign long term with the Habs or does he plan to retire for good, if he doesn’t extend I doubt he will try his best to put the best team out there next season we will see |

I can see him becoming president of hockey ops or something but think from my bs tea read leaving that this is his last season as gm by his choice |

That's a huge part of it. Price plays at 0.920 or above, Habs have smooth sailing. He plays 0.910 or below and they're clawing for a spot.
Playoff fatigue and injuries combined with a short off season won't help |

2$ he'll retire. he first said it 2 weeks ago (if we win I could retire!), then this week he said I have 1 year left to my contract, I will honnor it. looks to me il en a plein le dos and is ready for something else. maybe GM in LA with his buddies.

I doubt playoff Price will show up in the regular season, we will need Allen if he doesn’t get picked up by Seattle to also keep us in it. Also depends how much the team can score next season |

I think his emotions really show during these playoffs but I think he set his sights on not returning as Habs GM after next season |

A year of Caufield should more than make up for Tatar but you have to think Toffoli doesn't score at the same rate next year |

I am sure teams are really going to hone in on Suzuki and Caufield next season so both need to start learning to play tougher and yes no way Toffoli will score at the same pace next year but would be welcome if he does |

I'm pretty sure they will be looking for a LW, but could ask for a RW to play on his off wing as well.
A guy like kyle palmieri comes to mind.
I think they will try to keep Armia but who knows, since he's UFA. |
