Or should they leave their captain exposed in the draft and see if Seattle bites on his huge contract?

Chiarot will be exposed.

Oilers doing Oilers things

Duncan Keith for Caleb Jones + picks, no salary retention

- Not_Yan

is Jones good? Don't really know him.

But Keith is pretty much done at this point, no?

as much as people speak about Weber age and contract, they have nobody to replace him

They could give more ice time to Romanov.

I think the market is better for LHD as well. RHD, not so much.

Who plays where?

Trading (salary dumping) a $5.6 million (questionable) 3-4 aging D (and not retaining any salary) on the downside for what looks solid 5-6 d and get a pick in the deal?

I wonder who won that trade by a mile... Keith will have a few good games here or there and some people will justify it, but in a cap world where the Oilers lack depth, adding that contract does not help at all.

It's like if the Habs had traded Fleury and a 3rd for Keith.

Caleb Jones has not exactly distinguished himself. 24yo with less then one hundred games played. Less than twenty points and a minus seventeen. I'll pay the extra bucks for Keith on my second pair. The Oil need to start winning now

This is how Ken Holland chose to spend his money. Good deal for the Hawks even if they give up a franchise legend
