he played 5 games during the playoffs, and yeah they're gonna have to find some sort of replacement to his regular-season production (and also his line wasn't producing offensively when he was gone either...) - Pat1993
Caufield will cover the regular season production and then some I imagine. Have to expect growth from Suzuki and Kotkaniemi in production. Poehling may bring some production. Add whoever joins through trade and FA and Tatar's regular season should be replaced fine |

There's also the fact that Anderson and Caufield are technically both RW.
So Caufield had to switch to his offwing for Anderson to play with him and Suzuki.
It "worked" but it's not ideal.
While Toffoli can play both wings with relative success.
Now we need a guy that shoots left that could help them....
Ideally someone with size.... That could score....
Hmmm...
Maybe....

he's most likely gonna get his chance, yes... thank god they have a bit of depth going with the farm team.

a bit of a "reverse Tuna", rather inconsistent during the regular season but I really liked his game during the playoffs, wouldn't mind if he stayed.

I think he's an effective bottom 6 guy, that can jump in the top 6 for a while if injuries happen.
I love his size and battles along the boards.
I wish he'd come back, but I wouldn't pay him much more than what he's already getting.
I feel we'll get outbid on him.

It's the catch 22 right? He'll want a raise and it's hard to pay that much for a guy who is solid in the playoffs but shows up 1 out of 10 games in the regular season. Flat cap plus a salary increase says we wish you the best imo |

I wonder how much of a raise he'll be looking for, 8 pts in 21 playoff games isn't necessarily out of this world either, and intangibles can only bring you so far in contract negotiations

Teams often overpay for playoff grit/performance. I wouldn't be shocked if a team tossed $4m+ a year over 4 years at him |

maybe not by much, but yeah I can see that happening. unless he absolutely wants to stay and negotiates something considering the team's cap situation...

yeah that would be quite a nice raise from his current 2.6M cap hit

Easiest answer is it all depends what happens and who is lost through expansion. Hard to make any firm plans until you know who goes |

it's a scientific fact that addicts like to doctor up their food and beverages. for instance, a coke head will add a lot of sugar and cream to his coffee, or really use a lot of salt and pepper in his soup.
