I don't see any scenario that Benning gives up players or assets to trade for a player they traded.

I think they have someone else they are already close to moving on

Benning and free agency is very scary. I would much rather buy low on potential team exposures, the cap is already set and you can plan around it.

He doesn't have much room to sign free agents anyway until lind, juolevi, Hughes and petey are signed. Moving money out and in makes the most sense given the uncertainty of our RFAs

I'm sort of surprised too. He's been a good player for them
- Codes1087

What about Pettersson? He was just signed to a 5 year deal.

Just traded for Matheson last year.

Canucks have the 16 th most cap space right now before buyouts. OJ and Lind if they are coming back to Canucks will both be cheap deals (very cheap) .

I think Canucks will be very active just like most teams. Look at Minny Fla AVs Habs already shuffling money .

Like I have said all along I am not concerned about cap at all. If they want something or someone they will find a way.

I really believe when Benning said a few weeks ago the media or fans don't know what has been talked about behind closed doors.

Hearing from a reliable source, that Boeser is on the market.
Ek is the reliable source, can't get any more reliable than that.

Just spit balling here and probably wont be anything but with Edler leaving and Boesers name on the trade circuit I wonder if that is all linked . Boeser for a Dman and bringing in Hyman to replace Brock?

That Rantanen contract signing from 2 years ago, at 9.25, is biting them in the butt.
It is why I don't believe you should ever be paying huge dollars on a 2nd contract.

I was told they have no cap issues

The media has been trying to trade Boeser for 3 years now. Rick said they receive calls on him but aren’t shopping him.

Media are click bait whores

Hyman isn't a Boeser replacement... if going that way go after Landeskog.

I meant as a top 6 forward not goal production.

We don't have an abundance of offense though.... we need his production especially on the PP. Hyman needs scorers around him to produce in top 6. We are short there.

Are you trying to suggest that the Canucks have no cap issues, or that whatever cap issues the Avs have make the Canucks issues ok, or less challenging? What’s your end game here?

One team is the odds on favorite to win the cup next year, just won the presidents trophy, has arguably the best player in the league.

The other just finished behind the Ottawa Senators.

Does another team’s challenge give you warm tingly feelings?

He's one of the most respected players in the league, he doesn't belong on a 3rd line.

Blue-collar, hell play wherever if it helps the team win. Wont whine and complain about it either.

Today we don't no.

Just a scenario and very unlikely but say Schmidt and Boeser to Buffalo for |Reinhart and Risto and sign Hyman or Schwartz.

Adding Reinhart and Hyman to the top 6

Not at all, just poking some fun at Lefty for saying that the Avs have no cap issues

They have to plan for MacKinnon's future massive raise and have key pieces to re-sign.

What is Buffalo adding? Schmidt has more value than Risto and Boeser has more than Reinhart.

As I said I am tossing an idea out there. The actual GMs can figure out the fine details.
