They should expose Myers and holtby and hope one gets claimed, not paying an asset for them to take one. It's crazy thay Benning and management think protecting Myers is a right call. - Codes1087
Imo, if I am exposing Myers, I am also exposing the other 6 million dollar man on defense and protecting 8 forwards and Demko. |

Thanks Carol!
I guess 200’ of game isn’t enough to keep Sutts as a Canuck. Hopefully they can find someone who can play 201’. - 1970vintage
As a cheap 4C he’s fine if cheap cheap. Black hole driving any offence. He’s gone. |

That player is Mason McTavish, hopefully.😁 - Reubenkincade
Him or Johnson be nice 👍
Holding out Clarke drops for our biggest organizational need but not betting on it lol |

I know nothing of rookies.
Is he likely ready to step in to the show year 1 or need some seasoning? - dbot
Needs a year at least imo.

there are a lot of crazy things being bantered about.
I guess I'm a bit crazy also because I would keep Myers..🤷♂️
I agree that no asset should be attached to any team wanting any Canuck player right now.
The poopty contracts are finished in a year. Holtby is either selected or kept, he plays as a back up and improves or doesn't play. - Makita

I don't have a problem with Myers and believe he brings quite a bit to the team, as the only legitimate all-situations defenseman this team has. |

It was strange reading an article about Clarke possibly being the best Dman in the entire draft. If he drops to us it's a no brainer IMO. |

I honestly don't think any of those 3 will be available, unfortunately.

I think he's overpaid and that it will only become more apparent as his deal ages. I'm not really a fan of his or Schmidt. I get that our D corps sucks, but does that mean we have to overpay for what we have? |

I don't mind Myers at all also. I wonder if a new style of D will help him out more? I think a new method of play might hurt Edler though who played many years under the old format. |

Trading a 2nd to get rid of Holtby is insane. First of all, his play nor his contract warrant it. Second of all, it's absolutely insane asset management.
Guess what, if you have to make that deal to save your job you don't deserve it in the first place. Spend the next 9 months sweet talking the owner instead and writing him personal cheques if you have to. A 2nd round pick to rid yourself of Holtby for 1 year? Ridiculous. - golfingsince
I still think he's got decent value being on an expiring contract. |

That's sort of my thoughts. If Myers stays a canuck, then it's no harm no foul, but protecting him and his contract doesn't make much sense from a cap standpoint. Same goes for holtby. |

You would have to have someone more valuable to protect then. |

I’m sure Miller is the new foundation. His reputation will prop up the team for the next two seasons. |

Myers and Schmidt both had significantly better years prior to joining the canucks. I have to think that shaw can only improve things, as they really can't get any worse. |

I can’t imagine they will make him captain. He certainly won’t be the best player on the team. |
