I would give Primeau a chance at backup to start the season(OctoCup time) even if his Dad played for Philly..
If it doesn't work out trade for a cheap vet. - AGalchenyuk27

We've gone the cheap vet route for years, didn't workout well for us.
If we do lose Allen, we'll need a backup that can hold the fort if Price gets hurt.
If he fails, you try Primeau. - Scabeh

Darren Dreger on @TSN690 says that if Marc Bergevin wants to make a deal with Seattle not to take Jake Allen in the expansion draft the price would be either a top prospect + a good draft pick (2nd/3rd) or a first round pick + a later pick. - AGalchenyuk27
that's why I said many many times in here NOT to trade with the Kraken |
|
|
|
Trade Allen for a prospect or pick.
Then let Kraken choose between Drouin/Lehkonen/Byron/Kulak.
Then my bet is Habs will be trading for a center if Danault is gone or a good LW to fill the holes.
Then on UFA day Habs will target Hamilton or Plan B-C-D and sign another good 2B goalie.
Some new faces will be joining the Habs. The biggest lost will be Weber but if replaced by an offensive Dman it might be a bad for good at the end.
Hopefully KK is ready, else trade him in a package for an elite C |

well, they do but it depends what other goalies are available. the kraken hasn't even played a single game yet and I already hate their (frank)ing guts

According to the Athletic, the Penguins are going to have trouble protecting all their forwards, and may leave one of Kapanen or Carter exposed. |

on defense Kulak and Fleury.
On offense? Byron? maybe Drouin?
it's weak |

the asking price to "not take Allen" is basically higher than the return the habs would get if they traded Allen to another team, doesn't make sense

They can't expose one of their goalies from the AHL? Not Primeau.
I guess not. |

They don't have the required NHL experience.

Had to check. 3 years left, he eats 10% of the cap. That's a lot.
What are the other options? JVR? Ghost? |
