Savard isn't capable of replacing Weber on either end of the ice. He looked good playing bottom pairing minutes but would likely be exposed playing higher up the lineup and will likely get overpaid by somebody intending to do just that.

Werenski is a LD and Jones is the one believed to be available, not apples to apples. By that logic I'd rather have Hedman even though Savard is the one likely available.

It isn't as simple as just adding FAs. They have to want to be in Montreal and Habs need the cap space. Suter is likely staying in the US. Hamilton likely doesn't want to be in a big fishbowl market. Tarasenko is pretty broken. No voila

Hard to say where Hamilton wants to play, he's been around. If Weber's off the cap which looks likely, we're one of the few teams who can pay him and potentially do damage in the playoffs.

The fact we're going to lose Allen (frank)ing sucks though.
