How much is it gonna cost? You have to imagine Colorado is giving him reasonable offers considering the cap issues and he just feels he can get more elsewhere? Maybe it's all BS to generate uncertainty around the league? - JRR1285
They also have a really good team with lots of promise. Pretty sure he is going to stay in Colorado. |

Excellent choice Jan.
Well worth it for 15th overall.
I'd be very happy if this happens in real life.
Drury should hold the pick and keep building up our farm system. I feel the Rangers currently have enough NHL regulars with value to move in deals to upgrade our roster this year, and shouldn't mortgage the future just yet.
Always a pleasure reading your Posts Jan. Thank you for your hard work.

So not only does my offer to move up for Wallstedt get rejected but also my target at 22 is taken. Well played Jan. - Feds91Stammer
Didn't know the latter part, sorry man. Blues owner was lass happy as this was his target pick after Raty |

I think landeskog will be most expensive player signed this summer.

9.5 per? - JRR1285
I could see it
Maybe if someone gives him 7 years and a full NMC it will keep the price down a little.
Tricky spot. As good as he is. Another contract like that long term with a NMC could get to be an anchor after 4 years.
But then again. It would be a helluva pickup. |

I read rumors he wants 8-8.5 per and Colorado is only offering 5.5 right now |

I think he's more like $8M on the open market, maybe COL can get him for somewhere in the $7M-ish range if they don't (allegedly) continue low-balling him. |

I keep thinking that a lot of free agents that are eagerly awaiting to get their pay day are going to be disappointed. Teams simply don't have the cap space even if they have the actual money to pay the player. |

Just smoke and mirrors, he wont sign until after the expansion draft. |

They have to low ball him,MacKinnon has 2 yr left on his deal and then hes getting 10 mill or more, makar is due this yr(rfa bridge to help the team?),as well as grubauer(probably 5 mill or more)they already pay rantanen 9.25.if they give landeskog over 7 that could spell cap problems similar to Toronto. |

Exactly why I don’t want the NYR to make any big signings this off-season whether it’s Landeskog or trading for Eichel. Rosters with multiple 8-9+ million guys on top of Panarins 11 will kill us in a year or 2. |

Yeah and, as valuable as his intangibles and two-way play are, Landeskog simply doesn't have the offensive output to justify paying him like some of the top forwards in the game...especially in a flat-cap world. |

Maybe they do end up with the same cap problems as Toronto, but if Landeskog hits UFA his price is going to jump up immediately. There's some competitive teams out there that could afford to pay him close to what he wants and leave COL without their captain.
If COL wants to keep him they'd be smart, assuming all these reports are true, to bring up their number before July 28th. I think they'll do it, Landeskog is a big part of that team. |

I really can’t see them protecting Rooney or Blackwell over him. I hope they take Blackwell only for the fact there’s no room for him in the top 9 and Rooney is better suited for a 4th line role. |

I feel the same about the kings.we have 2 10 mill players that have earned those contracts(won championships and individual awards)I dont want to see more of them and be in cap trouble like alot of the league that have overpaid players.still paying mike richards and phaneuf smh. |

Some speculation they might trade him instead. Dunno. I thought he'd do well under Gallant, but if the Rangers leave him unprotected and he gets a bigger role in Seattle, NYR are going to sorely regret it. |

If we trade Buch the RW’s would be Kakko Kravtsov Gauthier. I’m 100% good going into the season with that. |
