Hertl at 7-8 per as a 2C? Sign me up. The next question that we don’t need to figure out just yet but the decision is looming is what to do with Zib. He will be 29 at the start of his next contract taking him to 35-36 and will want a long term deal probably in the ballpark of 10 million per. With his injury history and age would we be better off moving on and trading him? Not sure there’s a right answer there.

This is a totally unpopular opinion in Ranger-land, but I stand by it. Ryan Strome and Thomas Hertl are essentially the same exact player. Why give up assets and pay someone more for marginal difference?
I’ll give in to the fact that Hertl is much better at the dots, but I just don’t have the same kind of love for Hertl that many of you do. Seems like a minor improvement, if any.
