Having an analytics department doesn't outweigh the hockey petigree risto brings to the nhl.

If you're Seattle. who is going to be an nhl player the next 5 years? Risto or borgen?

Risto clearly has nhl value, half the gms are still dinosaurs.

I sure the pegula's have been privy to all sorts of trade scenarios for risto. Would they really be ok with just letting him go for free? A 26 year old defenseman with 500+ nhl games under his belt? International hockey petigree....

I think Borgen will be a player we come to like. Just seems like a steady, lunch pail type of guy. Don’t want to lose him, but protecting Risto was the right play hands down.
