as they should

he is worth more on a trade then borgen

- homiedclown

I would be shocked if Risto brought in that much

I was thinking a 4th maybe a 3rd round pick.

there is nothing that says Seattle doesn't take miller over borgen as it sits.. just depends on what other D are available.. they need to ice a decent team and Miller is an actual NHL defensemen today
- SabresFaninIndiana

They also need to get to the cap Floor. I can see them taking Miller because he is a one year deal at no terrible cap hit.

Seattle can then retain 50% and get a decent pick for him at the deadline as a rental for a team on a playoff run

I couldn't care less what they play before games (save some extreme exceptions), but anyone that thinks this is anything other than grandstanding is kidding themselves. This is the NFL's way of looking like they're doing something without doing anything at all.
- buffalofan19

from what i've red, there was a time when the anthem was played while teams were in the locker room/clubhouse...they need to go back to that

I think Borgen is more valuable to the franchise than whatever they end up getting for Risto.

Borgen with Dahlin looked nice

I think Reinhart has the the most ambiguity of the 3 when it comes to trade value.

Make sure the fax machine is plugged in.

At the end of the day, we don’t have 1 NHL goalie! There is zero reason not throw a 4th or 3rd at a team, even for a backup goalie at this point…

- Gr8daygo

Agreed, other than UPL. People massively underrate him IMO. I'd be more than happy with him as our backup next year, learning from a competent starter which he will replace gradually over 2-3 seasons.

Do they need to play it at all? Honest question.

Hopefully his hockey IQ is higher. Then again, you just need to get above "Rock" to be there.

Borgen is mostly likely a number 5 d-man.

It’s not the end of the world if Seattle takes him but I mean if they take Miller that would be preferred.

Either can be replaced.

I appreciate the humor, but his contract status is what makes it tough. Each team that makes an offer for him has to guess whether he wants to be there long-term or not.

the list of d prospects over the last 20 years of potential vs reality is depressing

I can't recall a decent pairing from the sabres since rhett and jason

No one should freak out over losing Borgen. That being said, with the direction the team is going, have to think they try to move Risto and keep him. Force Seattle into taking Miller and be done with it.

And get a (frank)ing goalie to protect already!
