The only thing that irks me with Edler is that if he wanted to chase the cup, why not waive at TDL? Probably could have gotten him to Tampa. Did he only just decide after the season? - Retinalz
With Covid uncertainty and not knowing when he could see his family if he relocated , I get not wanting to get traded during the season.
Things are opening up now.
This way he gets to decide and plan accordingly.
I got no problem with the move.
Same as Ohlund.
I wish him the best.
Plus frees up more cap space and roster space for the kids.
I just hope this doesn’t mean we bring back Hamonic at a higher salary |

I kind of have to wonder why. Lysell hype crew has been hush lately and only some of the analytics crowd thinks he is top 10 worthy. - manvanfan
Both Johnson and Lysell definitely range in terms of what scouts feel are their ceilings...Lysell appears to have high end offensive skill and a non stop motor (solid on both sides of the puck and has played against men). End of the day, both are wingers if they make it to the NHL. Good with whoever can securely fit into the top six forward group (ideally top 3) |

McTavish to me is the hopeful at 9. Guy looks like he could be a 1c in a similar way as Getzlaf, bottoms out as a 3c and would likely be a very good 2 c. He doesn't quite have the Boom some skilled guys have, but has the skills you need to win in big games. |

“Dhaliwal does not think the Edler decision is due to term and money. Thinks he wants to go to a better situation. If a 15 year vet leaves your team that seems like a shocking indictment. No?”
“Dhaliwal follows up that Edler wants a Stanley Cup and doesn’t think the Canucks are close. Again, that is true to any reasonable person but when a 15 year vet leaves due to that I think that’s a gut punch on the state of the organization.”
Essentially Edler knows the organization is poorly ran - LeftCoaster
Dhaliwobble , how many crowns he into?
His existence is tied to stirring the pot.

No doubt, but my fear is that every other NHL level defenseman sees the same thing he does hahah.
If that's the case, that leaves Benning with the ability to overpay UFA guys to come here or trade what little value we have for dmen.
Was hoping for that cheap hometown discount for Eddie to fill out the backend. - Whiskey-Tango
See what happens over the next couple weeks.
That is all we can do as fans. |

Eklund played against men and had 23 points in 40 games.
Lysell really flashy and fast but 3 points in 26 games for a high offensive player?
I'm sure he will play but when drafting him his comparables are mid first picks at best.
If he gets past 15. I don't doubt someone probably gets a steal but hes certainly not a top 10 in this draft. |

Too bad he never requested a trade at Tdl. Just maybe the Canucks could have got an decent prospect or pick for him.
If he knew he wasn't liking the direction of the team, like many, then he should have stated that a few months back and moved on.
Burrows waived, Kesler waived(although very limited), Bieksa waived, but the Swedish meatballs don't.

Thank You
What was his agent going to say . Benning would not give me more years or more money? I don't by the hype Dummiwhal is selling. He is great at cracking stories but he is one of the top pot stirrers also.

Think the Holtby (50% retained) to Seattle will happen. There’s better goalies available, but the Krak can then retain another 50% and flip him to a team that needs a goalie - Toronto, Edmonton, Boston, Colorado, etc. |
