Teams are putting the finishing touches on their protected lists. Hearing CBJ are planning on leaving Max Domi unprotected. I would be surprised if Seattle doesn’t claim him.

The NFL is so wealthy

——————————————

NFL teams split $9.8 billion in national revenue last year, according to financials released by the Packers today.

Each team received $309.2 million

Canucks should look to acquire and protect him over motte. Put him on Bos wing or 3C.

We need an agitator that can actually backup his mouth. Roussel is washed up. 2.9aav for domi isn't that bad at all either all things considered.

He’s at 5.3AAV

Unless you want CBJ to retain half, then be prepared to pay in a trade

They are exposing him for free for Seattle. I think you could buy low on 50% retained, much like the leddy deal. Columbus isn't winning a cup in 1 year and are about to lose Jones, they can easily eat 2.9 for 1 year.

It’s 3PM-ET...the freeze, isn’t it?

I thought Carol said 9am PT in the blog.

Edit - nope, 2pm PT is what she said.

I think we see retained salary in the majority of trades today, unless they price to acquire is cheap and one sided.

That guy must be an absolute locker room cancer, everywhere he goes the organization tires of him quickly.

He sounds a bit needy honestly. He might be growing up though. Not worth his contract but did play with Bo in London. Cheap acquisition maybe.

I had it in my mind the freeze went into effect at noon eastern so expected to get up and read about the plethora of trades the Canucks had made overnight while I drank my coffee.

I don’t know man, if everyone needs to create cap space, then nobody can afford to retain salary. I don’t think Seattle will stick itself with $30m in dead space in year 1, not if they hope to be competitive, which is a real possibility in this division.

I don’t see anything happening Canucks wise. No one wants the Canucks garbage. Jim Benning is going to have to wait out his mistakes.

I think contending teams will all be asking to have retained salary in all acquired trades, and non contending teams will be willing to retain. I think Seattle would be willing to take on dead space if they can utilize it to obtain more high draft picks much like Vegas did. They had 3 1st round picks in their first year I believe.

He’s all offence, all the time, not very responsible defensively, which is why Torts hated him.
