I think Horvat has the C, Edler and Sutter have the As. but it isn't because he doesn't have a letter on his jersey that he can't bring any leadership qualities (might sound cliché but it's true lol)

If he has an A, he brings leadership all the time lol. I think they alternate for the A on home and road games. Pretty sure I saw the A on his jersey before

quite possible, I was just looking at this

and I think it is possible for teams to make mistakes and give a letter to someone who doesn't necessarily bring a lot in terms of leadership

I’m 7th on the protected list? That’s almost insulting.

And protecting Danault means that the Kraken cannot use their exclusive 48 hours negotiating window to sign him before he even makes it to free agency. If MB thinks he can sign him, he will protect him. As for Evans over Drouin, I stand by it, Evans is a centre and should Danault go the Habs will need him big time. The Canadiens made a cup run without Drouin, he has made himself expandable and there’s not getting around the fact that MB has lost this trade. For Francis, picking a 3rd overall pick for free is enticing, especially since the Kraken will need to reach the cap floor and depending what’s available, they may need Drouin 5.5 M to make it work. But yeah, it will all be clearer when we have all the lists.

Leadership is a very subjective term, we may all think peanut is bringing leadership here daily

very interesting, but if MB is really convinced to sign him, couldn't they have a gentlemen's agreement and leave him unprotected, knowing already he won't sign with the kraken but with the habs?

I don’t think he’s convinced he’ll sign him, I think he’s really hoping to sign him...big difference...Trades are allowed until 15:00 tomorrow, wonder if we’ll see a lot of moves...gonna be on the road to Repentigny tomorrow for a public signing with Steve Shutt, hopefully the Habs wait till i can write to act lol

That’s the thing they don’t have the gentleman’s agreement yet, I don’t think MB wants to give him anything more than the contract he gave last year

don't worry about it, as our habs blogger you've been on top of things 99% of the time, you're allowed to have a personal life too (which in this case is ironically habs-related loll...). worst-case scenario Fido will post a comment about you being late, but that's it

not a bad point, but I'm thinking if they can't keep Allen or find a decent enough replacement they won't be making the playoffs either...
- Pat1993

Yeah, I'm not at all excited to lose Allen, but if the asking price is an rumored, Francis can go (frank) himself with a steel mace.

Would be typical Edmonton to give a #1 role to a #2 goalie, let's do it!
