- deadpoulet

He sure did!
Curious would the Habs be better served targeting a guy like Gio for a 1 year bandaid for the next year without Weber? Im sure for your 2nd round & maybe that Tampa 2nd Flames can eat 1.75 mill of the contract & you have a LHS top 4 D that can play 20 mins night. Next summer, Weber can come back healthy & Gio can come back home. |

Habs won't make a trade for a defenseman before the expansion draft. They still have Chariot, Petry and Edmundsun to protect.
Otherwise, I think we're looking at a stop gap, yes. |

I’d definitely pay Seattle a first round pick with a kid like Struble or another minor prospect to keep Allen. Not only did we have so much issues finding a good backup in the last couple of years but 1- Allen saved our asses this year or we couldn’t have gotten in the playoffs and 2- I do think he’s the reason on why price was so good during the playoffs with that much rest.
For Danault, he stated that it’s not the money but his place in the lineup. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bergevin waits for Seattle to chose theirs players and after that he would trade KK for an upgrade at D or top 6 winger. That would let Danault stay as the #2C on the team and make it easier to agree on a longer contract. - koarik91
This is exactly the type of general managers' panic that turn Vegas into a powerhouse. Just lose a player and live with it for (frank)'s sake. |

Also the more I hear "insiders" talk about Weber, the more we should expect this in October.
Next week they'll write his (frank)ing eulogy. |

It's not panic when you look at the reasoning behind the decision. Without Allen, our chances to go back to SCF are worse. Carey Price might be the number #1 but you need a backup that could easily be a #1B if he has to play 30-35 games.
The names given here to replace Allen are jokes. Halak was everything but good last year and lost his spot. Primeau isn't ready and we are in a win now situation.
Everyone laughed 2 years ago when Brisebois gave a 1st round pick for Coleman or Goodrow which are far less important to TB that Allen is with MTL |

I like Allen, but I wouldn't throw away a 1st round pick and two prospects to protect him. That's highway robbery. |

Might be good news for us: https://www.tsn.ca/seattl...q4hMyv6JnsRjCSa8-5EAFsh6A
Like stated, I'd be ready to give our 1st this year and a minor prospect not named Struble at this point. |
