If we want a bigger defence, we can’t keep Morrissey, Pionk, DeMelo, and Heinola. If we lose DeMelo, so be it.

The Jets best defender is Stanley. Just watch him dominate players on the other teams in the Jets zone. Now bring up Samberg and Heinola to round out their defense, if Maurice plays them.

I would love to watch that. I hope it happens. So far, it hasn’t. He’s been exceedingly passable in incredibly protected minutes

At least the Jets are not the only stupid team, the idiot Leafs go out and make a very good trade to Get McCann only to expose him and protect Holl lol, a very bad defence man who only looked average because he played with Muzzin. Lol.

I actually think protecting Stanley is one of the smartest things this franchise has ever done! I love Logan Stanley . I think that Logan Stanley will become the anchor of this defence in two years.

Hey, I would’ve kept him and Demelo and exposed Morrisey. I also would’ve asked Wheeler to waive and kept Appleton to.

There are a ton of D available;
Subban
Giordano
Dunn
Fleury ( Anaheim and Montreal’s Lol)
Bean
Dillan or jenson both from WSH ( Jenson has almost identical underlying numbers to Demelo and makes less $)
Klefbom (if you find out more about his health)
Borgen
Clague
Petterson
Zadorov

I still think we’re
Screwed and will lose Demelo but their are a lot of D available
I can see the Kraken taking a lot of guys with onky one year left like Subban, Giordano, so that they can acquire as many picks and prospects as they can at trade deadline

Not a Leaf fan, but I actually liked this trade for them.

What did they give up - wasn't it a 7th and a borderline (?) prospect for McCann? Now, since the Krakens can only pick one Leaf, the Leafs are either going to have McCann or Kerfoot left. Not a huge price to pay IMO.

If anything, I thought the leafs might expose Brodie, Holl, big young, rugged d-man you might win Cup(s) with. And is getting better, was terrible like you say.

Surprised that Bean was available, but guess the Canes were in a crunch. The Krakens wouldn't touch Subban with a 10-ft pole, would they?

Gotta believe the Krakens will take Bean, Zadorov, Giordano for sure, Dunn, Klefbom, E. Johnson if healthy), McCabe, Dillon, Hagg and after that ??? Butcher? Shattinkirk?

Seems to better d-men and goalies available than forwards. IF - and say "if" - Copp wants out - maybe could get a d-man from the Krakens for him?

Maybe the offer is Copp, take Niku and send Dillon back.
Dillon and Pionk works for me

We keep DeMelo and everyone kind of ok with it

I would have done this too! I do think that with Demelo most likely being taken, the Jets will have lots of cap space to go after someone big in free agency.

My fear is they will pay someone double what Demelo made for worse play.

If you believe in Chevy, than this should not be a fear.

I do not believe in Chevy and as a result your fears could be substantiated.

Subban is a UFA in a year, if he even has an average year the Kraken at the very least would get a 2nd round pick and prospect for him at the deadline. Same goes for Giordano, it’s an easy way to stockpile your system to either trade them all away (see Vegas) or go with a longer build

Would be interesting to see Subban and Price reunited in Seattle.

You don't believe in the owner(s), the GM, the head coach, the assistant coaches, the captain, the assistant captain, perhaps the trainer - how long is your list?

Yes, Giordano for sure. I think it's a given that they select him.

If PK is still PK, yes, for sure. Not sure that PK is still a hot commodity though. His play has digressed in recent years, but that's just my opinion.

But in contract year, yes, maybe he'll bounce back?

For one year they may view Subban as great for connecting fans to the game, very personable guys obviously. Can always trade him at deadline next year so for a summer and 3/4 of a season there is some star power and business aspect to Subban.

Not sure I would but could understand it

Never said anything about the owners.

But I do agree with you that we definitely need a complete overhaul of the franchise. The GM is supposed to draft and develop and apparently is dealing with forces that are beyond his control. What has he done to overcome those obstacles? The answer is nothing that is why he is aptly named Chevelallseasonoff.

The coach is the second longest serving one in the NHL. Looking at all the banners he’s won….oh wait, there are no banners, next. Assistant coaches like Huddy are responsible for PK and for some reason we keep finishing in the bottom 10 every year. Leaves me believing that something is definitely wrong there. The fact that Pascal Vincent left this franchise to be an assistant elsewhere also leads to many questions about why he did he not just take the assistant coach position with Jets last year when they hired Lowry.

Wheeler strikes me as a bully. He himself has admitted to being grumpy and too hard on the younger players. Tim from “Tim & Friends” has constantly referenced him as “having a strong personality”. It’s unclear who is actually coaching this team and for some reason with Uncle Paul being weak around him, Wheeler is not held accountable for his poor play.

Never said anything about assistant captains.

I think you mentioning the trainers is pretty astute. For some reason players that get injured on this franchise as “day-to-day” do not come back in a day or so and some stay on the shelf longer than they need to. The whole Byfuglien situation is very peculiar.

But again, You are right about doing a complete overhaul over the management structure with the team! This is something I can get behind.

He’s a very average defenceman who looked awesome on a pairing with Muzzin, let’s not be weird. The Leafs defence was actually shockingly good

Oh I prefer Copp also but their is some damage to the relationship and I think he goes 1 year deal.

I would with flat cap if I was him
