He's not tradeable with nothing coming back

Some team will trade you THEIR goalie making 5,6, or 7 million dollars and some picks or prospects and see Price as a valuable upgrade, but if Bergy doesn't take their goalie back then the trade doesn't work

- TheGame316

That's called a trade.

Anyway, we will get some anwsers soon.

not sure if it would be "allowed" or not but is it possible MB has already talked to Francis and confirmed he wouldn't be grabbing Price..?

Ya, but why would Bergy want to trade for some teams 7 million dollar burnout and a 1st and be stuck with a 7 million dollar goalie his former team didn't think was good enough to win?

If Price gets taken, you can view the trade as for capspace, which is just as valuable as players and picks

More likely Francis told him he was taking Jake Allen unless Bergy ponied up some picks and this is Bergy thinking he's clever by blocking it and exposing Price

with so many question marks and issues to be addressed I have the feeling this isn't a gamble, but a planned decision. MB already has enough on his plate, it would be silly to be taking such a huge risk at this point so I'm thinking he reached some sort of agreement with Francis

just to make you guys nervous a bit.
IF Weber is done, him being a close friend of Price, maybe Carey thinks they had their shot at the cup, won't happen again, and wants a new start close to home.
that idea was brought up here last year, nothing new.
imagine a new team, avec pas de Price et de Weber.

pas de price, pas de Weber, pas de Danault.

It's all fun having cap space, but most players said already they were not coming here. Well, some key ones anyway.

If he did then why not just save the drama, Protect Price, Expose Allen and rely on the "deal you made with Francis"

Apparently all this trading and scheming is because Francis has been ridiculously rigid in his demands and teams wouldn't deal with him. Francis has made some bitter comments to the press about teams having "years to prepare" and there aren't many Vegas like deals to be had

forget the cup run for a minute.
many here, starting with me, have been saying exactly this. trade Price and Weber, the window will open in 2-3 years when kids reach their prime. and that will be with Primeau in net, not Carey.
are we seeing exactly this? maybe we are...
if so, the lost of Danault is pretty much irrelevent.

ouch. avec pas d'espoir... unless of course MB somehow makes a few miracles happen and manages to grab elite players to replace them.

If that was the case....why expose Price, make the same promise with Francis not to take Allen.

No, this is NOT a "deal".....Bergy is counting on Price's contract making Seattle take something other than a goalie from the Habs. And it just might work. BUT, if Seattle says...."screw you"...we will take Price....well, Bergy better have eyes in the back of his head walking around in Quebec if that HABbens!

no hope for next year, but that would be a real rebuild. not a retool.

problem to that theory is that Primeau is not 2 or 3 years away. KK is a mess (ok je suis pas gentil mais ça ne va pas bien). Danault might be gone as well pis les centres numéros un poussent pas dans les arbres. Even if you say you have Suzuki, Evans does not replace him either.

As for the Weber transition : look at the Markov transition. It was a mess.

how do you know it is not Price who asked to leave? maybe he wants to go to SEA, and MB really has no option but to oblige his star player.
