My money is still on Eberle. I'd say 55% Eblerle, 40% Bailey and 5% someone else.
It looks like Lou wants the cap space. Let's hope it works out. - JimmyP

I think they take Bailey before Eberle. Eberle’s playoff performance may save him from being picked. |

I am hoping seattle takes Ebs. I really like Bailey. I have heard absolutely nothing with Ovi. If we had the cap space do we do this. |

Have to think so Cpt. Bailey seems like he would be more the respected player overall. |

I hope they take Ebs as well. I don’t think they will. If it were me I wouldn’t.
They take Bailey I will be disappointed however the Doom sayers / Bailey haters / Girls Club, finally got their wish.
Maybe Lou has another trick up his sleeve and sweetens a deal for Francis to take Bellows and Lou throws in Ho-Sang. |

Not if people were reading these boards for the last 10 years.
It will be what it will be. Losing either hurts the team, but I have faith Lou has a plan in place. |

Going to be one of them very likely. It will hurt but Isles should be able to do quite well with the added Cap room. This entire team was not coming back with the draft and Lou was mostly likely looking to make a big move to help the Isles get to the Cup. |

Well Schwein, what if Herr Ovi wants to win another cup with Herr Trotz and gives a very favorable cap hit? |

Maybe Lou can Jedi mind trick them into picking Ho-Sang. |

If Ovechkin were willing to sign a short term deal for reasonable dollars, then perhaps. Though I think any amount that Ovi would view as “reasonable” would be better spent on longer term solutions. |

I saw that John. It's a good point about Eberle numbers dipping with the system the Isles play. |

He also recommends they pick up JVR from Philly, so there's that.

I think Ebs is the obvious choice. Then again Josh Ho-Sang was left unprotected.

Big number 66 Josh Ho-Sang? |

I would assume the Kraken would take Bailey but who knows? They may be looking for low salary young players by the time they pick from us. Maybe they take a chance on Bellows or Aho. Maybe Lameriello has a deal in place with them to select a particular player? The next few days are going to be interesting. |

Pretty funny that all the Isles "cap issues" went away pretty easily. The one contract on our books that everyone loved to point to is gone and it didn't cost a first round pick. We now have over 18 mill in cap room to sign Pelech, Beau, Casey, and whoever else.. with the expansion draft looming and with 1 of the Ebs/Bailey tandom gone we will have some more $$. If we want even more cap room they can move or buyout Leo, Hickey, etc.
Every team has to deal with the Cap. Good GM's have ways to make moves to create money.
Going to be a fun week. |

Gotta love Lou.. the 2 guys I was MOST ok with not being on the Isles anymore were exposed and the one D-man that drove me nuts was traded.

Habs leaving Price unprotected is a riot. Thought he was way too expensive and Seattle loved Florida's young goalie. As soon as they heard Seattle was thinking about taking Price he has 100 injuries. |

Leddy was a weak link in the playoffs but he leaves a hole in our line up. Getting a second back was awesome and using it along with another to jettison Ladd was huge. We didn’t use a first but two seconds is still giving up assets to move a contract which is never ideal. Believe me I’m in no way being critical of the deal it was a great “trade” but to quote “cap issues” like we have/had none isn’t accurate. We NEED another D man and most likely another forward who are going to fill that empty space now without even factoring in our RFA/UFA signings. With that said I do agree that good GM’s have to find a way to navigate their way out of bad contracts. |
