I was told Dumba sucks as well.

Then again, same people were female doging about Chariot, so, I don't know.

I'd take Dumba over Barrie or Ristolainen in a heart beat. And I'm more than happy to point out I wasn't in favour of the Chiarot signing, mostly because I wanted a puck mover but don't let his playoffs play make you forget Chiarot was pretty brutal in the regular season

It is what it is. Tatar was good for us during the season and everybody decided he sucked in the playoffs.

Chiarot may have played with an injruy as well. And was playing with an injuried Weber.

There's not a ton of RHDS on the market.

Just checked out and seriously it’s empty. Maybe Adam Larson who was 5th in hits this season. Wouldn’t be a bad choice although he’s not offense.

Literally never are. Habs used to have that issue on forward too and now have almost too many right shots

him or maybe Montour. I don't know him really.

Other option is to check who is a UFA in 2022 and make a trade. Yes I know, Seth Jones.

Most likely option is to play a lefty on their offside. Between injuries and retirement my guess is 21/22 is a write off season for the Habs anyway. May be better to keep their powder dry and prep the roster for 22/23 if Weber is done and Price is out a large part of the season. Too many big roster holes to fill. I needed to add the word roster there

I wouldn't trade or sign a guy to play their offside unless they've shown they consistently do it at a high level. Play a current roster player on their offside as 2nd pair RD if need be. I'm honestly starting to think this coming season could rightly be a write off

I don’t know. The 1st overall next year is a good damn good player but at the same time, we just ended up in the finale, how the hell do you justify a letting go already? Bergevin don’t wanna quit this way, I’d be surprised.

Pretty sure he has something going on. Last year he traded for Allen, Edmundson, Anderson et signed Toffoli/Perry.

So if Price is hurt, I could see another cheap goalie coming in (unless they think Primeau is ready). Trade for a RD/LW and sign a depth center to replace Danault.
They need at least 3 moves.

Sure But Chariot is not that young either and has one year left. Our d is not young in general.

That would not be short term move. He's 27.

They really should go with Allen and Primeau in my opinion, unless they think that would hurt Primeau to rush him up. Only then, get somebody. Halak would be funny.

Does the roster without Weber, without Price for a lot of it, without Tatar's 25ish goals, without Danault possibly, who knows with Drouin and that's before other little injuries from the playoffs come to light, does that roster make the playoffs? Toffoli probably isn't scoring at a 44 goal pace. How much do the Habs mortgage in FA amd trades to try and scrape into the playoffs just because they overachieved this spring? Need to approach this sober and ignore the recent playoffs as they're over

Harris, Struble, Norlinder, Guhle are LD who will need to play at some point soon. Romanov needs a bigger role eventually. More worried about RD with Petry being older and Weber bring done

Drouin/Weber/Price liberate about 24millions

Well let’s say Primeau replace Price and does good (Price was awful in season).
Hamilton sign a 8m/6years contract and replace Weber. (dream)

Wennberg is signed and replace 3rd line C
Habs resign Lek/KK/Armia/Perry

Habs trade for a big LW contract like Kane or Tkachuk. Habs won’t be that awful.

Those are just names sent. But I’m pretty sure Bergevin will trade for 1 or 2 assets cause each summer he does something and he’s not a huge UFA hunter usely

Very clever move by Bergevin getting the "news" out that Price may require knee surgery, trying to discourage Seattle. I have no idea whether there is substance to it but I doubt it.
A good risk leaving him unprotected to keep Allan. Hope it works out for you.

So you assume Primeau can replace Price and so it's cool to spend a poop ton of cap space on the short term?

Trade for Tkachuk? Yeah that'll be cheap. Hamilton likely gets 7 years (or 8 if Seattle) and a higher aav and I'd bet a large sum has no interest in Montreal - Tavares style, Mtl doesn't even get invited to the table. Wennberg in no way replaces Danault. Kane is a cancer.

Fixing this team in the short term without hurting the long term isn't easy at all

what if I want Seattle to take him? and it's not Bergevin that "leaked" the news, word it is coming from Seattle when they got his medical records.

If Danault leaves we really should sign Statsny for 2 years he fits 2 areas: strong 2 way centre and Quebecois. Will give time for the kids to develop.

Don’t necessarily think we should intentionally tank for next season but let the kids play more but not on Romanov off side. Not sure how much Fleury is in our future plans but we need also a 3rd pair RHD and coz 1st pair RHD
