I mean if Price was gone and Rask wanted to play in Montreal I wouldn't say no to one of the few goalies up there with Price. I'd tell people like Lucic and Marchand to (frank) off though. - apex123
Agreed on Lucic. Marchand would be hilarious and bring back Subban...lol. I have no idea how Rask did this year. I think that bubble poop last year was hard on him though. |

I agree, I hate the Bruins but Bergeron, Krecji and Rask are not amongst them. If it’s Chara, Lucic, Marchand different story |

LOL
That's circumvention, but a cap strapped team having a player time his surgery perfectly, milk the rehab for the entire season on LTIR, practice for a month and a half and only be officially cleared to play the day of the first playoff game ISN'T clear cap circumvention.......

Folks, this isn't as complicated as it seems. We all question the contract vs his play at times.... now. Imagine in another 3 to 4 years? Can I live with Price on Montreal... yes. Honestly he's one of my favorite players. But clearly Bergevin sees this for what it is, and that's a chance to get a good goaltender that could put up similar numbers to Price for less, and if it doesn't work, you still have Price.
Combine that with the fact that CAREY PRICE WAIVED HIS NO MOVE CLAUSE and you realize he's okay with the idea to. LeBrun is now saying Seattle is actually considering this, and if they don't it's because of his contract.... which is the same issue we have with him. If he can't play a majority season and playoffs that's fine, but then he's not worth 10 million. We all said we need more scoring and a mobile defenseman.... you need money to do it.
And yes, I get we lose playoff Carey ( thinking of you Pat!🙂😉) but, one more lose to Toronto, or his last injury, of many, being a few more weeks longer and we were done anyway, and starting the rebuild that many of you were yelling for when I first started commenting on this website a few months ago. Let's see what Wednesday brings. I for one can live with it either way! |

It's also NOT cap circumvention when a player like David Savard passes though Detroit, never playing a game for them only so they can retain salary before he heads to Tampa at a lower cap hit
Nothing prearranged, no manipulation or circumvention there either, just coincidence

Trade Weber!", "Trade Price!", "Fire Bergevin!" could be heard and read daily on both social and traditional medias.
And most of those statements usually came from Brendan Kelly of the Montreal Gazette........................ |

Makes about as much sense as what is suspendable in this league. Horrible common sense. |

and yeah I don't get this "they were one loss away from being eliminated anyways" thing, the fact of the matter is they did actually win... I'm aware that I may be a bit biased since I'm a Carey Price fan, but I wouldn't be completely opposed to the idea of him going to SEA if Bergevin actually does manage to snag a legit #1 goalie somewhere... which begs the question, who are the current potential replacements?
edit: please don't say Rask lol |

perhaps this is MTL's way of creating their own loopholes.
