Just did it, it’s over haha. Leave off JVR and take a guy like Tierney (redundant with Kerfoot) and 1 or 2 other small ones and it fits.

Problem is there are really no RHD. McCabe is coming off missing the entire season as it is and coming back from knee surgery. I agree they likely take Gauthier or Blackwell, but ADA is the best choice for them in my opinion.

Troy Stecher is a popular choice by most from DET, hes a RD.

Hamilton - FA
Shattenkirk
DeMelo
Stecher
Ceci - FA
DeAngelo
Barrie - FA
Montour - FA

Sure, its not a large list, but these are the available RD worth looking at for Seattle.

The only one better than ADA on that list is Hamilton. I have them picking Demelo already, beyond that the pickings are slim.

Why would they take on that cap hit for no reason, especially if theyre going to take Price. They could take Gauthier who could easily play in their bottom 6 and wait to sign ADA for half the cost.

I don’t think they start their franchise with a 34 year old goalie making 10.5 million that’s posted a regular season save % above .910 once in the last 4 years.

Unprotected goalie list:
Rask and Halak
Mrazek
Bishop
Quick
Kahkonen
Price
Murray
Elliot
DeSmith
Holtby
Vanecek

Its a pretty solid list of goalies. If I was starting a franchise, Id give consideration to DeSmith and Vanecek however also grab a veteran netminder like Quick or Holtby.

If they gamble on Duchene and also manage to sign Dougie, Price is almost definitely out of the question.

It’s coming out now that Carey Price has hip issues end may miss a lot of time next season.

Cap hit was 5.7 when they got him until 2019. They resigned him for 7 in 2019. Big difference plus 2 years younger. Price was considered by many as slowing down, he has a good first 3 series in the playoffs and suddenly at age 34 he’s 25 year old Carey Price again.

Maybe just a play by his camp so they don’t take him
