Still would like to see Nichushkin get picked up on the cheap. He is only 26 and would be a great fit with Podz and Richardinson on the 3rd line. - carsonagenic
Could happen ? They said they wanted to fix the bottom 6 .

If Col needs to shed salary, which they do, a player like Jasek with no NHL pay or roster spot would be perfect for them. |

That doesn't mean a team can't bring him to camp and sign him. - manvanfan
Can a team circumvent the draft like that? Any draft eligible player can go to camp, but can't be signed. Canucks have brought in players thought to be ineligible, but the league found they were and didn't let sign. Some GMs are also very bitter about things and could spend a 7th to draft him in 2 years and prevent a team from signing him as an undrafted player. |

Interesting that both ESPN NHL writers

and
@emilymkaplan
had the #SeaKraken taking Jonah Gadjovich from the #Canucks. Not the young player most of us would expect and just like Kole Lind you wonder if not being waiver exempt will matter to Seattle. - VANTEL
stocking their AHL team as well. it kinda makes sense that they'll take some flyers on guys who they'll send down and see if any become late bloomers. at worst, they get some guys who can play in the AHL and come up for sporadic periods for injury relief. |

I am not sure what the asking price would be . Freidman reported that Avs may have one last offer to Landy before he hits free agency but believes Landy wants 60 mil and Avs wont match that.
Also seen Makar is looking for 8-10 mil per.

Draft eligible in 2018. Went undrafted and signed to a contract for the 18-19 season by the Philadelphia Flyers. |

Some interesting stuff floating out there. Danault may not be returning to the Habs . They may lose Price . Weber on LTIR . I bet they would OS Petey. Bergevin is a wildman

i just meant that not all the players that they pick will be for the purpose of making seattle off the hop.
the players they pick might not be all waiver exempt, but i'd be pretty sure that most if not all will be able to slide down to the A at the beginning of the season when every team is trying to round out their rosters.
my point is that i could see them picking players who are older "prospects" as a way of making a competitive farm team with the ability to bring up these guys for spot relief. they might not be good enough to play the full 82 with the big club but are good enough to be productive in the AHL while being capable of playing a few games/spot duty with the big club. |

Seattle could have one of the better goalie tandems in the league, and it's only going to cost them like 5 mil

I think Jim timed most of this stuff pretty well . I still think Canucks are one year early on the young centers like Focht and Cosmar and one year early also on Woo , but the timing is close for the old out and the new in.
There are some good deals to be had but I still think Benning is accurate with one more year needed.

that's smart cap management.
allows them to save cap for the bottom 6 players. |
